As Americans living in Umbria, we are fortunate to live in a place with a rich, deep and delicious cuisine.....but...occasionally, we need a change of pace. Baba Burgers & Food Lab was just what the culinary doctor ordered. We ordered two burgers: one small Chianina burger with caremalized onions and the other, a large burger with chorizo and black bean sauce. Yummy. The fried potatoes were delicious. Our beers were very good. I asked for our burgers not to be over-cooked (common in Italy) and they were perfect. The service was excellent: attentive and friendly!!! I highly recommend this restaurant for a change of pace!

Ecce Bombo is not in the city center but it is a nice walk away from the center. After delicious pasta and pizza in other places this was what we, two American and one Dutch, were looking forward to. The burgers are deliciously juicy and by adding pancetta it ads a nice bite. The service was great and the bathroom was clean which is not always a standard in Italy. When you are in Perugia take a walk north, it was such a great lunch!

Stopped by after seeing strong reviews on TA. Highly recommend a visitThe pork sandwich was great. The bread was very tasty. They add a small amount of salt, that really adds to the flavor of the meat. For 3 euros, you can't beat this quick delicious meal!

We arrived at Perugia and drove to the look out to get a good look over the town. We took a few photos and then the weather fell apart. We ended up sitting with a coffee in the Piazza waiting for the rain to clear but then gave up and took a tour on the hop on hop off buss to fill in time. It is a beautiful town and I would like to return when the weather is a bit better but we did have a look at the underground town. This is a university town and we had a nice talk to some students from Chicago while waiting for the weather to clear. Can't wait to return.

Once you step in, you realize that this is a friendly establishment, one in which you start talking to the person you did not know before sitting at the next table. They have nice salumi, wonderful cheese selection and good wine. They are young and willing to build a name and you should go and visit them. They claim that they do not have a restaurant license and you need to step to the counter and take the order, clean the table after you are done or before in case the others did not do it for you. Also you have plastic forks and glasses. It did not bother me, it actually brings a taste of coziness to the place and makes it informal. The few points that makes me give them 3 out of 5.- The cheese selection was good. But most of the cheese seemed to be the same cheese with different fillings (peperoncino, truffle, nuts). At one point it becomes boring to taste the same cheese. Also, there were some other more interesting formaggi in the fridge but we did not get them... not sure of how they make their tagleri.- I can understand that it is not a restaurant, but if the table is dirty there should be no law restraining you from cleaning it before the new patrons arrive. Place was not crowded.- Place closes at 11PM. The guy at the bar started to seal the salumis at 10:20. Probably he would have unsealed it had we wished to order some meat. But I still think that the host needs to clean up after the guests leave. Debate-able, I know. I may be emphasizing this for the wrong reasons.- I found pieces of plastic in my mouth from the confiture. I kept thinking that they could have come from the broken plastic forks of previous clients and that ruined my night. Again, maybe I am over-reacting and this was in the confiture from the beginning, but still it does not help the review.
