Culinary excellence combined with art and culture. By "excellence" in the kitchen we mean: the choice of raw materials, a purely seasonal menu, constant variability of the winery's menu and distillates of the highest level and a brigade of professionals t
TL;DR - absolutely amazing food (both well-presented and superbly tasty), and service to match. The owners of the restaurant dropped us off to our hotel which was 7 miles away!Full review - My girlfriend and I walked to this restaurant from the airport: a precarious and poorly-planned journey. However, it was worth it for this institution. The owner greeted us at the door, took our coats and bags, and sat us at a table surrounded by gorgeous art. We enjoyed a selection of olive oils served with bread como antipasti: the owner and waiter came with six bottles of olive oil from all over Italy, ranked them from lightest to strongest and explained their origin. We sampled each with bread. The last bottle was especially stunning as it was handmade from their house in Sicily, with a refreshing taste that I did not know was possible to infuse into oil. For mains, I tucked into a sumptuous monkfish dish, whilst my girlfriend enjoyed a gingery fish soup, both of which were beautiful. My dish was served with an alcoholic pumpkin-like sauce, broccoli pieces, mozzarella slices, watercress, bacon cooked to perfection and dried currants - flavours that I would never have dreamed of combining, but worked so well that I have decided to try and duplicate them at home. The winelist was complex and rich, and too daunting for me, so I asked the owner to choose us a nice, deep red. His selection was predictably excellent. Finally, we asked the owner for the best way to reach the city centre. He conducted some research, informed us of train and taxi options, but then came to the decision to drive us and our luggage to the hotel. I was simply awestruck by such kindness. This is the best dining experience I have ever had outside of my own country. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The menu changes monthly.

Un ristorante storico elegante ma sportivo che permette servizi di alta qualità in un'ambientazione di pregio, mantendendo un rapporto con i Nostri amici, professionalmente confidenziale.
Five of us had dinner here, and it was a nice experience. The restaurant is in an historic building. Spacing between tables is wide making for good conversation and low noise level. Our group split as to the entrees, with several people ordering the pappardelle with wild boar ragu, and others going with the roasted suckling pig. Both were good, but the pig was the favorite with moist meat and crispy skin.We were split again for desserts with some ordering the nougat semi-freddo, and others the dark chocolate brownie. Again, we shared and agreed all were very good and probably the best part of the dinner. The house wines were good and a great value. At the end of the night we agreed that it was a good dinner, but not the five star experience the reviews had us hoping for.

We ate here two nights in a row ere whilst staying upstairs in the hotel. The food was wonderful - fresh, locally sourced, and delicious! Service is relaxed, and Silvia and Arek look after you very well. Good variety of exceptionally prepared and traditional Italian dishes on the menu and a very extensive wine list too. We'll be back!

"Il Caldaro" is a charming restaurant. The chefs create original, as well as centuries old local Umbrian recipes, using the finest fresh ingredients. This also includes handmade pizza cooked in wood pizza oven.
We having been coming to Caldaro for many years, both at Antognolla and more recently La Bruna and have always enjoyed the food and fantastic service. However, over the last six to eight months the restaurant has lost its mojo, changing its menu and the chef. The portion sizes were reduced and the food disappointing and overpriced. In addition, without Anca, the excellent front of house, service was at times chaotic. So, we were thrilled when we went for lunch recently to see that things seem to be back on track. The menu is seasonal with lovely local ingredients and the high high standard of cooking has returned. With Anca back overseeing the smooth running of the restaurant and staff, we had a delicious lunch and fantastic friendly service.

The simplicity of the home-made pasta, the fresh and genuine flavours from Umbria make special the cuisine of our restaurants. Once seated in the cozy dining room or in the enchanting covered terrace, admiring a wonderful view on the countryside, you can
The restaurant is sort of semi detached to the hotel. It is in the old cellars/stables and reached by a 20 metre walk from the main buildingI was left with the impression that the hotel is abandoning its restaurant. The photo above on this page shows tables with table cloths - you no longer get a table cloth. There are very fancy plates that restaurants use when trying for Michelin stars, but the food no longer is in that leagueHowever it is moderately priced, which helps if you are staying in the hotel, and finding another restaurant in the area is not possible. The service is a bit lackadaisical, and the waiters don't really seem to have their hearts in their job. It is all a bit odd , as the hotel is done to a high standard, and is aiming at the top of the market.

"AL TARTUFO"is a small restaurant with cozy lounge located in the historical center of Perugia, just behind the cathedral. "al tartufo" is the only restaurant where you can add that fresh truffles of the season in any dish!"Al tartufo's Cuisine are based
It was our first meal on our first day in Perugia and we were not disappointed. I have not had much truffle but the education the waiter gave us and what type goes with which dish was superb. My steak was very good. I think they should insist on having a veg side ad itâs heavy food. Only 4 * due to it being quite expensive. We will go back on next visitThank you so much!we hope to see you again, best regardsAL TARTUFO

Ancient Medioeval Villa where to taste best umbrian wines and food. Magic atmosphere a pat in the past. Beautiful italian dehore.
We were recommended this restaurant by the people who owned the apartment we were staying in, who visit regularly. The building has been owned by the same family for over 500 years and is untouched by today's world; the son is now the welcoming and charming manager (his mother, who is in her 80's, makes all the desserts) took us to a nook where a log fire was burning and gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco and told us about the family history. The food was very Italian and traditional with a modern feel. Our wine was rich and red, of course! My dessert was gorgeous! There was a large group visiting and so a band were playing after dinner - Sicilian music with Sicilian dancing so the atmosphere was lively - we even danced ourselves! A very authentic and dynamic evening; I would love to go back!

This small restaurant is not particularly inviting, set on the main road from Ponte Pattoli to the motorway and not much has been done to make it confortable inside or in the drafty conservatory.Food also is just OK as the tagliere of ham and cheese is just decent with no special quality slices and the main course (fish with olives) was a complete shamble (too salty and served as a soup).Sixty euros for this was certainly too much and only cash was accepted.buon giorno zia angelina, siamo onorati di averVi avuto come nostri ospiti, ci rincresce se non abbiamo soddisfatto a pieno le vostre esigenze e cercheremo di migliorarci nel tempo al fine di poterla soddisfare al meglio nella cucina e nella sala, vorremmo tuttavia specificare che la selezione di salumi e formaggi che dice di aver scelto sono selezioni di salumi di mastri salumieri di norcia ( localita' riconosciuta in tutta Italia per la qualita' della produzione norcina ) mentre i formaggi sardi sono di prima qualità , ci rincresce se nell'occasione non avete potuto pagare con carta o bancomat, strumenti di cui disponiamo e che sono sempre disponibili presso la nostra struttura ma che nell' occasione per problemi di linea non a noi imputabili ( lavori alla via telefonica ) non funzionavo con costanza. per quanto concerne il prezzo di euro 60,00 che dice di aver pagato certamente non puo' essere la risultanza delle due pietanze che dice di aver scelto ( nel caso specifico avrebbe speso euro 24,00 ) ma bensi di almeno 5 o sei portate, considerando pure che nel nostro locale vengono offerti aperitivo di benvenuto e ben due appetizer.
