I could smell the fried chicken the moment I stepped out of my car. The queue snaking around the food station is testament that the chicken is a crowd-puller. Hunger and sight of the well displayed food made me too greedy and I had the following on my plate before I could stop myself: fried chicken, curry fish with lady's fingers, curry squid and vegetables. I asked for kuah campur and boy! was the food delicious. The gravy was so good that I asked for extra serving which came in a small plate. Hubby took a fried fish and chicken cooked on dark sauce which was absolutely devine. A tall glass of ice lemon tea is the perfect choice to cool down our tongues

Our hunt for western food in the afternoon was rewarded sublimely when we followed Tripadvisor suggestion to its #1 foodie here! We were informed its a family do by John n son Sam..
Both the Dorper lamb and Wagyu beef were perfectly done.. even the carbonara was of a class of its own! The Hokkaido scallop was creamy with crunchy asparagus spears.. drool!!
Will come again definitely.. seems that new menus is introduced every quarterly.. looking forward to it❤️

Were given the impression by other review, its good..so, with high hope, went there last dec 14..
The restaurant, very clean, proper..ample parking, service was good n up to expectation..
Food wise, we ordered fish head curry, the signature dish..medium size red snapper..fish was fresh..buy, curry was bland..light, bit hot/spicy in taste, the usual tangy zing that i used to feel in curry was not there..
Other dishes, the tomyam, omelette eggs, stir fry kangkong..all tasted bland..
This place, good for enternaining customers as it is a proper service, but for food lover, u might not get the food enjoyment..Good, not great..might not come again, might not recommend too..

Food here in Soho Auto City Juru is firstly really worth the price. You can get good western food for only about RM15-40. Well, for a upscale restaurant/bar in Penang it's considered quite cheap.
The shots are also reasonable priced.
Tiger Jug for RM33
Tiger tower for RM98
Whiskey shots for RM18+-.
And the food is quite good.

Located at trivial neighbourhood along shop houses and don't mistake this to be within the food centre.
Yam Rice is their core dish ... fluffy yam well served with rice.
Assorted pork soup has a slight sour base with tender well cooked pork meat and assorted parts.
Pig trotters were well braised tender with sauce will marinated seeping deep into the meat.
Definitely satisfying and worthy of special trip for this.

This chicken rice shop is situated along the Lebuh Kurau 5 aka 'Glutton Street' of Chai Leng Park in Perai. It is open during the lunch hours only including Sundays. It occupies two single-storey shophouses. The middle-aged proprietor and his wife together with their team of foreign workers run the place.
Fast - Although the shop was full, our orders were on our table in a short while. I noticed that all the other customers were served quickly as well. I must say they have an efficient system of running the place and they do so in a quiet manner unlike the usual noisy and sometimes chaotic atmosphere found in similar eating shops.
Clean - I found this eating shop to be cleaner than expected. Besides the clean tables and floor, the proprietor who did all the cutting and chopping by himself, went about his chores in a neat manner. He wiped his chopper and the board after every serving.
Delicious - The chicken which was first boiled and then dipped in boiling oil was delicious. The golden brown skin was crispy and the meat soft and juicy. It was served with boiled bean sprouts and cucumber. The rice was not too oily and we could even order plain white rice. The best part was the complimentary assam soup. I dare say this particular soup would put many assam laksa sellers to shame. Served steaming hot with mint leaves, it is sourish sweet, fragrant and very flavourful. Top marks! We could even order an assorted side dishes such as lo bak, prawn fritters, sausages, tau kua, fish balls, pork slices, century eggs, fish etc.
Reasonably priced - We were pleasantly surprised when we paid the bill. When the urge to have chicken rice comes again, we will definitely be back.

Their Nasi Ayam taste almost the same with most Nasi Ayam that were cooked by Malays.. not much different. Chili sauce not original paste so basically they are the same taste. Not many people can afford to open a restaurant but it is still ok cause the place is not crowded.

The place is located on the Mainland along the straits of Melaka on looking the Penang Island from Gurney till straits quay. Drive there can be rather nice along the Butterworth outer ring road (BORR) with the sea view along the smooth expressway. There is several restaurants along the first exit and Ah Chong Kantin is between them.
What they serve here are seafood and other contemporary dishes with layback concept. Price can be rather reasonable but avoid steam fishes as their specialties are more towards curry and fried items. Speed of serving can be rather fast comparing to the other restaurant here. The main dish here is nice view; cool breeze (depends on season) and cheap contemporary seafood.

It is situated on the first floor of a business building at the busy Juru Auto City junction, next to Haagen Dazs outlet, on your right as you drive in from the North-South Highway Juru Interchange. It has very simple decors but it is very spacious unlike the usual cramped Japanese restaurants in shopping complexes. It is well-lit and clean. The service is fast and friendly.
We ordered Soba Sushi Bento consisting of cold buckwheat noodles, unagi sushi, tempura, chicken teriyaki, miso soup and chawan mushi (RM50), Unagi Bento consisting of unagi, chicken in ginger sauce, stir fried bitter gourd, miso soup and chawan mushi (RM45), Shikaniku Black Pepper which is imported venison (RM28) served with garlic rice (RM6), Yari Ika Batayaki or imported giant squid grilled in butter sauce and Ginmutsu Teriyaki, cod fish grilled in teriyaki sauce (RM30). There is a ten per cent service charge.
All the portions were quite generous. The taste is just nice and right as it is not too thick in flavour. It is commendable that hot and cold green tea, assorted pickled vegetables as well as wet hand towels are on the house. The prices are fair and reasonable.
A good restaurant for a family meal as well as an ideal business meeting place because its wide Seating arrangement allows for private chats without being eavesdropped by the other diners. It is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a Japanese restaurant on the Mainland side of Penang or if you are planning to have some private moments over a meal.

This is probably one of the restaurants that we bring visitors to most frequently. We even had our company CNY celebration lunch here. The dining hall is probably still one of the best in Penang Mainland. Some of the new hotels may offer something better in terms of décor but I have to check them out. Before I came to work in Mainland, there was a lot of talk saying that Shelaiton is the best Chinese restaurant in whole of Penang. Never came to verify the claim for myself until now. Pretty good but definitely not the best. They do have a reputation for serving some pretty mean/good double-boiled herbal soups. Maybe this feeds the myth of best Chinese restaurant.
Some of the popular dishes we usually ordered are Teochew-style steamed pomfret, herbal soups (as mentioned above), steamed prawns, sticky spare ribs, stir-fry veg with coconut flesh, broccoli with scallops & mushroom and sui kow soup (served individually). They have a nice cold Chinese dessert (yellow pear, dates, white fungus, if I recall correctly) served in a coconut shell (must try item).
Biggest complaint I have for this Chinese restaurant is that they don't carry or serve higher quality fishes like Garoupa or Soon Hock. They only have frozen White Pomfret (Tau Teh) or Siakap. They won't change this policy even if many customers have given the same feedback.
