Eclectic, locally owned restaurant, featuring a unique menu with options for vegans to carnivores.
We stopped here for dessert. Interesting decor. Irish coffee is very good and the cheese cake is as good as it gets. Will have to try this place for a meal sometime.

Several of us went here after dining downtown. Prepare to wait a while on a Saturday night, which was fine with us. Very high quality ice cream. Would recommend, will go back.

It's one of those really customer-friendly, casual and very cozy, privately owned coffee shops that truly welcome you in. This one is in an old house on N Prospect in Peoria Heights, with attentive and hospitable service from young staff (thanks, Justin), excellent fresh coffee for any taste, and tasty food cooked to your liking. The veggie sandwich I had was cooked to perfection and was delicious.
The seating in different rooms is ample and very comfortable, the decor and atmosphere is hipster, a perfect place to stop for coffee, talk and meal with family, colleagues and friends. There is also an outside seating area, it also looks very comfy in the shade of trees around the coffee shop. Nice place!

Our family has been enjoying baked goods from this bakery for years and we think it is best one in town. Now we always go there to get baked goods when having company in town and my daughters take their favorite thumb print cookies back to their college towns when visiting. Their coffee cakes are legendary and chiffon cakes with flavor of the month make great light dessert. Not to be missed.

A touch of the South. Smoked meats on lunch menu, fine dining at night. Local farms sourced first. Hand crafted cocktails and extensive wine list.
Thank you all from Hearth for making my wife's 12th Breast Cancer Survivor Anniversary memorable. I asked for some pink flowers on the table and the arrangement was beautiful!! Steph was our server, 22 year BC Survivor!! Ask for Steph, she was just perfect in all ways. Oh my, the smoked oysters, should have ordered more. Scallops, crab cakes, wedge salad...everything was delicious. Wine selection was marvelous. Just get there!

Jim's has delicious food; I typically get the half roasted chicken with the mashed potatoes and stuffing, and it's scrumptious. We've also had delectable creme brulee here.
The one downside during colder months when outside seating isn't available is that it is very cramped, crowded, and noisy in here on a weekend evening. I have had to leave and step outside to get cool air before because between the heat and sitting on top of others, I was starting to feel ill. Try to make reservations for one of the two tables set up a couple of stairs in the front window; those aren't so crowded. Or come in the nicer weather where you can sit outdoors.

It was the first time there for my boyfriend and I. The atmosphere is amazing, we had a table in the back, looking out over the river. The waiter was very nice, prompt and courteous. We had many questions regarding the menu and he was able to answer them all. We ordered the fried oysters which were very good, as we didn't know what to expect. For our main course, my boyfriend had the special, swordfish, au gratin potatoes and asparagus. I got the Florida grouper, baked potato and asparagus. Food was presented well, flavorful and we would definitely order those items again. We look forward to going back in the future.

Don't be fooled by the exterior of this gem of a restaurant. The food is fresh, delicious, and made with quality ingredients. The beef and cheddar sandwich is outstanding. Don't forget to get an enormous (or itty-bitty) cupcake too. The cupcakes (Smores and Peach) were so moist and flavorful! They owners are personable too. Lovely place!

Family-owned restaurant serving artisanal barbecue. Large selection of craft beer and whisky. NO RESERVATIONS. NOT SUITABLE FOR LARGE GROUPS. CLOSED SUNDAY AND MONDAY.
PROS: close to the main attractions at the riverfront; excellent tasting food- we had the smoked then fried chicken wings and half a rack of ribs- excellent! fast service . located inside an old train station so it's unique.
CONS:none. just know the portions are big so you can probably split one order and just order more if needed.

This is the place to be on a Tuesday night. The burger special offers a multitude of choices, including the type of bun, cheese, sauces, and toppings...all at a reasonable price. A single or double burger is available, but the single is more than enough to satisfy. Sides are extra and we recommend the fries with blue cheese and bacon...super delicious and only $3. Beer is offered at $3.50. Our bill for two burgers, two beers, and order of fries was $21.55 plus tip. The food was delicious and the place was packed by 5:30 pm, so go early. The regular menu lists salads, appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees. The Tuesday burger special is worth it...looking forward to many more Tuesdays.
