It is the principal city of the Lewistown, PA Micropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Mifflin County. It lies along the Juniata River, 61 miles (98 km) northwest of Harrisburg. The number of people living in the borough in 1900 was 4,451; in 1910, 8,166; in 1940, 13,017; and in 2000, 8,998. The population was 8,338 at the 2010 census. Of the four communities in the United States named "Lewistown", this borough is the largest.

We were visiting family in Central PA and realized around 8:30 pm on a Sunday that we hadn't eaten supper yet... we were very hungry and we weren't going to make it until the morning. We searched online for local restaurants that were open on Sunday evenings and as expected, we found a very limited selection. We settled on Smitty's. We had a multigenerational group of four and found something appealing on the menu for each of us. The food was excellent; from the sliders to the grilled dill salmon to the steak salad. The service was great, they were very accommodating to requests and we found it a decent value. We will definitely eat here again when we visit the area. We had visited other restaurants in the Reedsville/Burnham area before, but this was our first time at the "Bel-Vue Inn." A friend had recommended it because of their excellent seafood, and she was right.I did enjoy my baked haddock dinner with a baked potato and stewed tomatoes very much, and I also liked the fact that I could order an adult beverage to go with my meal. Troeg's Perpetual IPA just hit the spot!My son had ordered the pizza burger which was good, but not much to eat. I was surprised that it didn't come with chips - just 2 pickle slices. The prices were very reasonable, and the service good and quick.The interior of the restaurant was very rustic, and it looked as if it had been a neighborhood fixture for a long time. Our visit was a positive experience, and we plan to return soon.

How this got to be in the restaurant category I don't know. I've been here 50 times and don't recall ever seeing anyone eat here. This is just a bar that draws a young crowd. Two pool tables in a back room make it nice to get away from the bar and have a little fun. Prices are ok if your drinking beer but not if your drinking shots or mixed drinks. Bartenders are usually talking to friends and take forever to notice that you need a refill. On a restaurant level I would give this place a 0 out of 5 and on a bar/tavern level a 2 out of 5.

Halfway point for us to meet with family and this place could be really great but needs improvements.Pros: Great service! Super friendly employees and spot on service. Food was good! Some of the things we ordered were the quesadillas, buffalo wrap, wings, fish and chips and fries. The fries are handcut and really good but could have been crispier. The fish and chips was a really small portion but flavorful. Drinks were great and very reasonably priced. Cons: Wow does this place ever need remodeling! The seats in the booths are all ripped and cracked. The bathrooms need some major TLC. It didn't seem very clean in there either and had a stale smell in the entire restaurant.We heard they have great drink specials during the week so I wish we lived closer!

Four of us tried Cora's for the first time for lunch and were very impressed. Our sandwiches were all good, and large enough to take half along. Our server (Dana?) was really pleasant and helpful. We even stopped at a time when they offered a draft beer with a special price and free glass. We will definitely stop here again.

I wish they weren't an hour and a half away, because this place is awesome! Good food, great beer, and amazing people. Whether interacting with a first-timer like me or the local regulars, the staff were all so pleasant and welcoming. Very much looking forward to my next visit!

Pit BBQ smoked daily. Great selection of gourmet burgers and sandwiches with endless fresh cut fries. We have over 40 flavors of wings. Also offer steaks, pasta, seafood.

Stopped here on the way back from Penn State on Saturday evening. Tasty ribs, pulled pork sandwiches and wings. The fresh cut fries were a favorite of the table along with the coleslaw. Good selection of craft beers at reasonable prices. Will definitely be back again.
