Reviews on Diner food in Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States. Scranton, at the center of the Lackawanna River Valley and nestled between the Pocono and Endless Mountains, is surrounded by nature. Just ten miles from the city is Lackawanna State Park, where visitors are welcome to sail or ice skate across the 198-acre Lackawanna Lake. But there's no need to leave the city to enjoy the great outdoors. Nay Aug Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, and includes a zoo, a museum, two Olympic sized swimming pools and a great gorge topped with a treehouse.

For more than 65 years Denny's has been bringing people together over great food. It's the place where people can relax and be themselves; where they can enjoy classic American comfort food and everyday value. 24 hours a day. 365 days a year. Here, you ca
Very reasonable food with a large and extensive menu. Always busy. Excellent service with friendly wait staff. Facility is on the top of a large hill and over looks he valley of Scranton and beyond. Great scenery as you eat. Open all day. Breakfasts are extremely good and late night snacks are worth the time spent. Am a frequent visitor and I have yet to have a bad or unacceptable meal. During peak times there is a small wait but it is worth it.

Iâve been to Keystone many times for Texas wieners which are very good & fries which while tasty, are always soggy. Soggy fries aside, I decided recently to try it for breakfast. The placed was mobbed so I expected slow-er service but the wait staff seemed to have NO set stations or any method to their madness of serving which made things even worse. They were oblivious to anyone but the person they were serving at the moment, so getting a refill of coffee or a few extra creamers was a real challenge. The cook had only two burners at her disposal and an overpopulated griddle, which also doesnât help get orders out quickly. I also watched her using her (UN-gloved) fingers to pick up bacon from the griddleâ¦I don't know if I am glad I ordered ham or not...Bacon blasphemy aside, all of this means it took WAY too long to get our breakfast of a couple of pancakes and a Keystone Special (two eggs, home fries, toast & side meat) which brings me back to the home fries... I was asked if I wanted peppers or onions in my home fries, I assumed as a courtesyâ¦WRONG!!!They charged me $ .50 extra for each which meant an extra dollar added to the price of my âspecialââ¦REALLY?While the extra dollar didnât bankrupt me, itâs the principal of being up charged a buck for an 1/8 cup of onion & peppers without being told they were extra. Good thing my father-in law didnât ask for extra syrup for the so-so pancakes he ordered...That may have cost us an extra $2.00!!The bottom line was the breakfast special was OK but nothing "special". Throw in the slow service, high-priced home fries, pedestrian pancakes, bad bacon behavior and I'd say Iâm done with the Keystone for breakfast. There are much better (and more sanitary) options in Scranton. If the fries stay soggy, I may pass on lunch too.

I specifically stopped here for two Texas Wieners but they tasted ok but the meat sauce on top was somewhat dry. At one time they had the best ones in Scranton.Plenty of parking, service ok and prices were not bad. Two Texas wieners and a coffee was $8.00 not including tip.

Ours is a casual family style diner
I've had lunch here twice recently and was totally satisfied each time. Food is good and freshly prepared. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. Various sandwiches were all excellent and reasonably priced. Will definitely return and try some dinner items.

Chick's Diner has a plentiful breakfast. They were open on Memorial Day and were very busy. My husband and I had a nice and tasty breakfast with eggs, ham, home fries, toast and coffee at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and we received very good service. We had also eaten dinner there at a different time, highly recommended.

My wife & I decided to stop in for lunch during the week in March. The restaurant was only half full. Our lunch was just ok, not great. The restaurant floor was dirty & the whole place in general seemed like it could use a good cleaning. The service was good. This time around it was just an ok lunch.

Staying in area for 1 night for an event. After using TripAdvisor to search for breakfast spots, decided on trying Neen's. It is tucked away in residential neighborhood. Small establishment, but cozy feel, friendly staff and nice priced yummy breakfasts. Breakfast served all day on weekends, only opened until 2pm. If in area again would definitely return.
