Reviews on Chinese food in Columbia, Pennsylvania, United States. Columbia, formerly Wright's Ferry, is a borough (town) in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, 28 miles (45 km) southeast of Harrisburg on the east (left) bank of the Susquehanna River, across from Wrightsville and York County and just south of U.S. Route 30. The settlement was founded in 1726 by Colonial English Quakers from Chester County led by entrepreneur and evangelist John Wright. Establishment of the eponymous Wright's Ferry, the first commercial Susquehanna crossing in the region, inflamed territorial conflict with neighboring Maryland but brought growth and prosperity to the small town, which was just a few votes shy of becoming the new United States' capital. Though besieged for a short while by Civil War destruction, Columbia remained a lively center of transport and industry throughout the 19th century, once serving as a terminus of the Pennsylvania Canal. Later, however, the Great Depression and 20th-century changes in economy and technology sent the borough into decline. It is notable today as the site of one of the world's few museums devoted entirely to horology.

We were antique shopping in Columbia and decided to cross the river into Wrightsville. We chose the River House based upon the ratings from others. The restaurant serves American fare. The portions were large and tasted good. It was very inexpensive.

This nice establishment has prospered because of its quality. I have been getting take out here for a couple of years. They have now expanded and added Sushi. they have a couple unique and good dishes.Order sesame chicken here and is will be well cooked but not over done that toughens the chicken like often happens. They also serve a very good orange flavor chicken. They make a General Tso Tofu for your vegetarian friends. The Moo Shu has a wonderful sauce. They will make fried rice without pork for those that don't eat pork. The Sushi is sometimes not well assembled, it comes undone, but it is fresh(they do not have Sushi on Monday since they don't get fresh fish until Tuesday)!

This family run business adds something different to Marietta cuisine. I was visiting East recently with a local who comes often enough that the waitress knew that they would want chicken and broccoli. I got the same: delicious! The seating area is small and ambience lacking, but Iâd stop in for take out if I lived nearby!
Top 10 American food in Columbia, Pennsylvania, United States
Typical take out Chinese food...You get what you pay for...They deliver locally is a plus. Food is ok.They don't have to do things like fire cooking their top entrees because they can sell their food to this working community anyway. You want better Chinese food, go to Centerville shopping center (Giant) or China Inn, Prospect Rd, Columbia, PA

We live a mile away and we used to take out at least once a week. Their soups are great, and the cooking area is visible, but they don't always get good restaurant safety reviews. To be fair, neither do any of the Asian restaurants in the county. The menu is the standard fare and the menu board is the same as many others. But, these owners are the originals and I've seen their kids grow from infants in the store to responsible and respectful young adults and that gets my vote every time. I recommend China Inn, but go in knowing that it's nothing much to look at inside, but at least one owner or their kids are on site. That doesn't mean that they will do anything if you are not happy with the food, though. Forget that. The quantity of the portions varies and the amount of protein in a dish is inconsistent.
