The borough of West Chester is proud of its long history of hospitality, having hosted its first visitors way back in 1769. These colonial roots still show, with over 3,000 surviving structures dating from before the Revolutionary War. The tree-lined downtown area is listed on The National Register of Historic Places, with such a large collection of Greek Revival buildings that the town was named Athens of the West. It's the perfect place for a relaxing day spent walking and window-shopping.

El Gran Rodeo

The food is what you are generally offered at Mexican restaurants. The lunch specials are good because the portions are smaller. .

El Limon

We have become semi-regulars now and we love El Limon. They offer consistently fresh, delicious, well prepared food. They now have fountain soda (Coca Cola products) which I appreciate. We have the same server almost every time and he is polite, respectful, friendly and attentive. The food comes out quickly and it is always fresh and served at the correct temperature. There are two small tvs in the dining area. It's a casual place so it wouldn't be good for a fancy get together or a special occasion. It's more so for every day dining when you are in the mood for good Mexican food. The nachos are always delicious. They always have more toppings though and never enough chips. No one ever gets the ratio right. It's either too many chips and not enough toppings or tons of toppings and not enough chips. One time we asked for more chips, which we were brought, but when our bill arrived we realized we were charged for them. It wasn't a huge deal but I think we should have been told there was a charge. The cheese enchiladas are soooo good. Just the right cheese to tortilla ratio. The tomatillo sauce is extremely flavorful. The rice and beans are also good! My man usually gets a burrito. He doesn't like their sauces too much so he goes with a dry burrito so he can also hold it instead of cutting it up. They have single stall bathrooms. They look and smell clean. Open kitchen concept. Kitchen and dining areas also very clean. Highly recommend checking this place out!

This restaurant is easy to miss as it is hidden in the back of the shopping center that is probably best known for Rita's Ices, tucked away next door to the Mexican supermarket on Gay St.La Rancherita is a great place with superb Mexican food cooked to order. Get your drink from the chiller and pay at the counter afterwards. The place is bright with Mexican music in the background and is used by a lot of locals. Portion sizes are very big and there is lots of choice. Sit down and tuck in for a leisurely dinner.

Taco Mar

Wonderful Mexican eatery in West Chester. The owner has done an excellent job taking his culinary experiences from Mexico and the Southern US and turning them into an amazing menu of wonderful options. The burritos are great as are the tacos. So many variations to choose from. The chips and salsa trio comes with some great sauces that you have to try. It's definitely for 2 people to share as many dishes come with chips. The restaurant has a nice selection of mild, medium and hot sauces which are tasty and, sounds silly but, kept in squeeze bottles which is so much better than those taco places with big open containers of condiments with who knows what dropping in there. Great idea! The chicken tacos and the pork tacos are great. It gets pretty crowded right a noon so go before or after. They are open for dinner and are BYOB. Prices are very reasonable. It's the owners working at lunch so say hello - they're very nice people.Enjoy!!

Los Sabores de Mexico

Excellent experience in this fine establishment! We brought our own adult beverages and were promptly provided with empty glasses to use. We started out with chips and salsa, told the very nice waiter that we were ordering guac and he brought that out right away. I ordered the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo which was just the right amount and the shrimp were very large and tender. It came with rice and salad but no fries. Dining companion #1 ordered something like "the 3 amigos" (I can't find it on the online menu) which was a large enchilada platter with rice and beans....she took 1/2 of it home. Companion #2 is a vegan and ordered the vegetarian fajitas without cheese which made it vegan...it arrived on a steaming hot platter with heated flatbread, salad, rice and beans and looked delicious....he also took some home. We ended with sweet cream churros which were wonderful. Our total bill was well under $60.00. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, the service was very prompt (dinners were brought out within 15 minutes). Granted, the ambiance screams "hole in the wall" but the food more than makes up for it. I highly recommend Los Sabores if you love Mexican food and if one of your dining companions is a vegetarian or vegan.
