My wife and I were back home in Shamokin visiting friends. We went there for lunch. The restaurant is in a very nicely renovated building across from the Independence Fire Company. The food was delicious. The staff was efficient and courteous. My wife had Celiacâs Disease and has to eat a strict Gluten Free diet. They did an excellent fob feed her safely. We will go there again while we are in town.

We went there expecting good food and service. I ordered fish....which was alright. My girlfriend ordered a burger. The ground chuck smelled sour, came out undercooked and the service sucked!!! The owner was more worried about his phony friends than the rest of the customers. What a shame.

We visited there for dinner and were greeted by our server at the door. She was extremely helpful offering us a taste of the wine we were interested in ordering. Several times during our meal she checked on us and we appreciated the care. While service was great the food we ordered was OK but not great. Fish sticks were well cooked but tasteless and fries were also tasteless. My wife ordered a burger which was Ok while our daughter ordered chicken salad which was also mediocre at best.

The atmosphere is quaint - typical of small Italian restaurants in the area. It was crowded on a Wednesday evening with several large groups (8 - 10 pleople) which resulted in it being rather loud. The food was OK. My steak sandwich tasted good but the bread was very dry. Even the bread in the basket the server brought when we sat down was rather dry.The service was OK until the end when we waited about 15 minutes after getting the bill and the server was nowhere to be seen. So we left the money on the table and left.
