Small place but comfy when we were seated. Our service was very slow. Like slow motion. There was no sense of hospitality that we could feel. Our food was good when it finally arrived, but it was definitely not hot. That must have been part of why it took a long time. Then the dreaded wait for the check. The value would be fair if the other things fell into place.

Great fish and chips, outdoor tables in season - my wife likes their shepherd's pie a lot. Good casual atmosphere. In late April and early May dinners and later a bit overwhelmed by local college students.

Spent a few nights here as an out-of-towner at an Irish pub with multiple TVs and a sports-bar feel. It didn't take long to realize that most of the people in Flanagan's new each other or were regulars, but it also didn't take long for the people next to me to strike up a conversation that would last, sporadically, throughout the evening. I've been to a lot of neighborhood bars, and this one leaned a bit toward the loud and lively side, but still managed to be comfortable and welcoming. The bar menu is actually more than pub food. There are some burgers here that would rival some I've had at more upscale eateries, and the prices were also a little bit more than bar food. But it was worth it, and they cooked the burger medium rare for me. You can "upgrade" from a bag of chips to fries, and I'd say the fries are worth it. I ate every last one of them. And if you pay attention to the drink special board and roll with the daily drink, it all evens out. If I could, I would have spent every night here. It's a great place to hang out, with excellent food. Even when I rolled into town after 9pm the first night, I was able to get a meal when so many other places were closed.
