Went here for a late lunch on a beautiful weekday afternoon. We sat in the bar area at a large table, even though we were only two. This gave us plenty of room for our dishes! I ordered the duck meatballs in molasses sauce; three delicious meatballs in an incredibly flavorful sauce. My friend ordered the deviled eggs, and Sriracha charred Brussel sprouts. She loved the eggs, and even though I hate brussel sprouts, she insisted I try them - and they were wonderful! We also split the Charcuterie platter, which included meat, cheeses, figs, and almond stuffed olives. The flavors were incredible, and there was enough that we had leftovers for later! The building itself is an old salt house (hence the name) and the decor and ambience is warm and inviting.

Sunday night tacos are da bomb. They're not traditional tacos with queso fresco, but oh, they are soooooo tasty. If soft tacos aren't your thing, their burgers are really good, too. One of the things I most like about this place is that nobody goes unserved, no matter how grubby or cleaned up we look. The wait staff is fantastic.

We are locals and have only discovered the Heart of Oak over the past couple of years. In addition to many "comfort food" offerings, we have found their menu and specials to include some fine restaurant options. Happy Hour is worth the stop. Drinks and wine selections are good. The staff is friendly and hard working as a team (especially running up and down from the kitchen!). We just returned from a vacation in the UK and found our pub hopping there to remind us of the warm atmosphere of the Heart and Oak!

Plenty of tables and bar seats inside as well as an outdoor patio that overlooks the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad. There are also several pool tables. Good variety of beer with flights available. Very good nut brown ale. The food menu is somewhat limited, but the prices are reasonable. This locationâs menu is different from the Princeton and Red Bank locations. Good friendly service the bar. The corn chowder was served very quickly and was delicious â should have ordered a bowl instead of a cup. Was told that many of the ingredients/meats used on their menu come from local farms. Very good pulled pork sandwich which came with Cole slaw on top of the pulled pork and also includes a small side salad. Would definitely return for the beer.

We had dinner at the Square 1 pub a few days ago. It's a good place to go that's favored by locals. Although there's a big, shopping center sized parking lot outside, lots of spaces were Rajendra. It's popular. We started off with drinks. My wife's martini was large. I ordered a scotch on the rocks. Lots and lots of ice, which in December might not have been the best choice. They have a basket of popcorn on every table. It gets replenished.A couple we knew were giving salads. This is something I hadn't tried, which is something they do very well. You start off with the basic salad, which might be an iceberg wedge or spinach salad. You can add chicken, salmon, shrimp, etc. for an extra charge. It might not sound like anything special.Actually, it is. The iceberg wedge might cost $7.00. Adding chicken is $9.00. It's a huge chicken breast, sliced on your plate! Suddenly the salad becomes a large entree! That's what my wife had. Excellent.I had a special, the hanger steak, which ran about $26. That was a proper entree. There was lots of steak. That was enough for dinner. We headed home. Are there negatives? It's a pub. It's not fine dining. They have a quieter sit down area on the other side of the entrance, but it's not a linen tablecloths type of place. This is a high energy pub type atmosphere, not a quiet, romantic location.Overall, it's pretty good and good value for money. We keep coming back.

We had a nice lunch here on Saturday on our way back home from OBX. Always reliable. A very interesting, eclectic menu. We enjoyed the Fried Oysters, Persian Cucumber salad, and the Greek Salad with Scallops. Nice wine list, great service.

Me and my dining comrad show up around quarter after one. The place is experiencing a congestive heart attack! Us two wait along with a large family group for seating. The hostess asks, "Are you with them?" I say "No," she says "Follow me'" to our table. I already love this place.Service was excellent, under very busy conditions. Women were running this place, and it beneficially showed. So my boss had the shrimp and salmon burger. She let me try it, pretty good. And follwing was her interest in cooking one up at home. I had the crab cake. Very high quality too. Food was very good. But sitting in Hart's was like trying to remember the housing of a century ago, where your forebearers lived while you were a child. So ambiance rates high as you attemp to figure how old a place Heart's really is.

Pleasant atmosphere with lots of bar seats, high top tables and regular tables. Good craft beer selection. Bartender offered a sample if I wanted before ordering a beer. They also have flights available. Decent menu selection as well as daily specials. Steak wrap sandwich special was very good - but the bacon was a little too overcooked. Great service - food was served quickly.
