I've tried just about every pizza place in the Mon Valley. Little Caesars, to me, is inedible. Other members of my family like,...I hate it . You might as well put the cheese and sauce on the box. The pre-processed pizza shells are like cardboard. By the time we get the pizza home, the sauce is dried out. Want good pizza? Go to Jake's in Belle Vernon. Pizza places that advertise "gimmicks" like bacon-wrapped crust HAVE to have gimmicks because their pizza sucks. Jakes doesn't advertise and they've been in business for over 30 years. Their pizza is their reputation.
I've had the opportunity to visit this location several times over the years, but my most recent visit validated my feeling about this location. Service is very slow here. It's not an occasional issue, it's 98% of the time. I have no issues with the food. It's consistent, hot an there is a variety of options so if you want something light to carnivorous, you can get it here. The new Pretzel crust is especially good. Wings are small but the all the flavorings are good. Here is the rub, service. I doesn't matter if you are dining in, taking out or using the drive thru. The service is slow, It seems that they are always needing help or the are understaffed, I like the food here, but I find myself going somewhere else because I always seem to wait 10 to 15 minutes before someone takes our order or able to get someone to handle my pick-up order. If you have time to sit and take a leisurely lunch or dinner, this is your place. It's clean good for kids and the quality of the food is very good, i have no qualms here, but don't expect a fast turnover.
Locals swear by this place, while the Pizza is OK, it's a bit smokey because of the use of provolone cheese mix. There are 2 locations, this one being the better. Service at this location is also a bit better then the other, but that's not saying much. No Delivery, dine in or take out only. Note; prices here are much higher than any other pizza places in the area. The dough is very thin, chewy but the use of corn meal on the bottom of the crust makes this a tastier pie, however I recommend asking for extra thick dough for an additional up-charge. Pepperoni used here is sliced on premises "extra thin" and due to this it turns into little saucers after baking and grease pools in the center of them. Some say this is why the pies taste so good here.Subs here were once "best in the area", but due to a change in the bread several years ago are only average. They had the absolute best meatball hoagie, but this is no longer the norm and this goes for the balance of the subs here as they seem to be made to the state minimum weight standards and are higher in price that many other local pizza places. Especially skip the "poorboy", I believe it was named this because of the lack of items on the sandwich (mine had a single slice of boiled ham, lettuce, tomato and italian dressing) is akin to being poor and next to nothing between the roll, yet it is priced like the other subs on the menu board.Again, locals defend this place as being the best for pizza, but I can't defend that opinion.
Best Pizza around. If you taste it you'll always end up getting it in the future. I moved and will go to get the pizza even now.
I actually drive a Pay Toll Road to get this pizza. After living in the south hills of Pittsburgh most of my life I relocated to Westmoreland/Rostraver area. Searched for years to find a good pie. Although I have to pay over $2 to get on route 43 coming home from work and out of my way I found a pizza that I actually love. Ordered it half baked and uncut. Finished off in my own oven later that day and it was perfection.

We were a little apprehensive but no need to be! We ate in and were very comfortable. My college-aged kids had calzones. They had tons of compliments abt it. Son finished his, daughter has leftovers. French fries were AWESOME! The pizza that we got was really good, too! Highly recommend
I have heard very good comments about Jake's Pizza, and I wanted to try it. It is good pizza, and I liked it. The pizza was a bit small, however, for the price. I would go back and try some of the other menu items if I happened to be in the area again.

I prefer traditional Italian pizza to "American" Italian pizza. Wood fired is my favorite, but I like coal fired as well. Recently a friend told me about a wood fired pizza place in BelleVernon. I didn't expect much, but we tried it anyway. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. They explained the whole process and the story behind the magnificent oven. We had them make a "small" Loko Koko Mozzarella/basil/tomato/oil (no sauce). It was fantastic! We asked them to serve it the traditional Italian way, not cut into triangles. One of the best pizzas I have had. Won't have to drive to Shadyside or Bridgeville to get good wood fired pizza any more. (small is really a medium and you can taste the ingredients because it has no overpowering garlic taste.)

My grand-parents lived a few doors down from Nuzzaci's Pizza and I ate there very frequently as a teenager. Well, over forty years later, we went there today. The neighborhood, as you can imagine, changed drastically. The pizza was a bit different than in the 60's but still very good. Good sauce, cheese, and nice and thick. Very momma and pappa and that is what we look for as it is a great break from the cookie cutter chain restaurants!Rich and Dr. Linda W.

This place is definitely our family's favorite! We love the pizza which has a thin crust, great sauce, good amount of pepperoni, and just the right amount of cheese. Their hoagies are loaded with meat and lettuce, tomatoes onions and more. The fish sandwiches are awesome, too! The staff works very hard and we have never been disappointed with the food.
