The chief and I love this place. The food is upscale italian and for a local place, it is outstanding. It’s a byob. The waitstaff are professional and friendly. It has table cloths and is very lovely inside. The salads are huge. I love the spinach gnocchi with ground veal, the fish specials, the veal chop, and the chief loves the lagastinos, ravioli and the mussels. It does get loud on weekends so we always go during the week. Closed Monday’s.

Stopped by at a local's suggestion, and glad we did! (More than once.) Guys behind the counter seemed happy to be there and enjoying their craft. Ordered plain slices before we actually clued in on the great variety of pizzas available -- mistake! Nice selection, beyond the "same ol', same ol'" on offer at most shops. Kudos to the crew.

Piero's Italian Restaurant

This lovely Montgomery County restaurant has become a direct victim of the Byberry Road bridge detour...and its nearly empty dining room is certainly not deserved. When we heard the news report about the situation, we happily undertook the drive from our Bucks County home to pay another visit. We were seated by the chef/ owner & quickly presented with a small loaf of warmed bread to enjoy while we awaited our appetizers; happily, olive oil is present on the table & butter was also provided in the bread basket. For our first course, we shared two appetizers - Bruschetta (chopped tomato & basil on flatbread topped with a balsamic reduction) and Mozzarella Pomodoro (tiny cheese balls w/ cherry tomatoes & large olives dressed with basil, olive oil & aged balsamic). Both were tasty. For our main course, we both chose Veal Saltimbocca (breaded veal medallions with prosciutto di parma & mozzarella seasoned w/ sage & served in a demi-glaze loaded with sliced mushrooms) - garlic mashed potatoes & sauteed spinach were included. We left Piero's happily stuffed & sorry we didn't leave room for dessert. Support local business & don't let a road detour keep you from enjoying all this restaurant has to offer.

We live about 2 miles from this place and pass it all the time, but didn't try it until last night. We were so pleased! We were greeted immediately and with huge smiles. Our server, Hannah, was top-notch as was another server who was in that particular room setting up for a party. Both checked with us frequently during our meal to make sure we had everything we needed. My husband and I both chose the chicken parmagiana, which came with a Caesar or house salad or soup. We had the Caesar, which was plentiful and delicious and included large chunks of shaved parmesan cheese. Yum! The chicken dish was amazing and included three pieces as well as a pile of penne pasta. We both took some home. The garlic knots were also delicious. Sadly, we didn't have room for dessert.I look forward to returning.

Had my first slice of "LONGHI'S" pie when I was 7. I have set the inner pie standard on their mark back in the early days of my life - around 1968. There are other good pies out there, but this pie informs all the layers of goodness that those pies aspire toward.49 years later, back in town for business, my heart has come to rest - THIS IS STILL THE SAME PIE. The tomatoe sauce is perfect, not too sweet, not acidic, not tinny, not too salty. It tastes like fresh tomatoes that have been made into sauce in the back room - with a hint of oregano - not too much. The cheese is not over powering - if you wanted that you'd order extra cheese. Creamy and carmelized by the ovens. And, the crust - oh the crust - the crust and crumb carry the same tawny color and crispy crunch, hints of semolina and corn in the after taste - a trick of the chef that knows how to use an oven to perfect dough. Don't come here and not order a pie - even if to have one slice with your meal. Take the pie home.THE BEST PIZZA.

Angelo's Restaurant

This was our first time there at Angelo's. The service was just so-so. The server was very nice, but we had to ask for drink refills constantly. The restaurant was not very busy when we were there, so we did not understand this. Most of the food was very good, but the chicken piccata, which a few of us had, was a disappointment for all of us. It was bland chicken thrown into a blander sauce, and not one caper in any of our piccata dishes. I will return, but none of us will order a piccata meal. The bruchetta was out of this world. I could have had it for my whole meal, it was that good. The garlic bread was amazing. Dinner salads, salmon, chicken Parmesan all were fine. House salad was pathetic. We had been at another Italian restaurant the week before, with a really robust and delicious house salad, so seeing this one--some iceberg lettuce with 2-3 rings of onion and 1 grape tomato cut into 4--was even more pathetic in comparison. There was enough good in our evening that we will try it again, but without ordering the house salad or the piccata.

What a delightful little BYOB bistro & so glad we found it. Tucked in next door to a swimming pool shop, without prior knowledge, the restaurant might be easily missed. While the chef/owner's creations are exquisite & a delight to the taste buds, upbeat waiter Wilbur certainly adds to the meal's enjoyment. On our most recent visit we began our feast w/ Brushetta (for my husband) & a colorful salad including burratta cheese, mango, shrimp & fresh greens (for me) - both dishes winners. For entrees, we both ordered specials: Lamb chops & shrimp for him; Halibut w/ crabmeat for me...delicious! In a celebratory mood, we couldn't resist sampling from the dessert selection: Strawberry Tiramisu for him and Mocha whipped Gelato for me....perfect ending to a perfect meal.

Maggio's offers an extensive menu of Italian and non Italian entree items. A wide variety of sandwiches and a comprehensive breakfast menu with omelettes and such. They also offer an array of fresh salads. Our server was excellent and particularly helpful and atentive. There is a bar with big screen TV's as well as several banquet rooms. There is ample parking. I believe thatchy even have a Keno parlor. We found the food to be OK, not exemplary. When the restaurant gets busy, it get noisy and difficult to have a serious conversation.Seems to be a hit with locals.Thank you for you taking the time and making the effort to post your review. I am sorry that you found our family owned restaurant only average. Since we opened Maggio’s in 1976 we have always attempted to produce the absolute best in foods, drinks, cleanliness, and ambience. Your review will be shared with our valued staff and every effort to make sure our high standards are and continue to be met.We hope a return visit will produce a much better experience for you and your guests.
