There are three "From the Boot" restaurants, all in the Philadelphia area.
While on business in the Philadelphia area, my working associate and myself decided we wanted to try some local Italian food since we were in the philly area and there's no shortage of Italian restaurants. We decided on a place local to the hotel we were stayingat in Ft. Washington pa, called " from the boot". We decided to go a little early because e were not sure of the dinner crowd in this area, so got to the restaurant around 5:30 and were seated right away. Glad we went early because by 6:15 the place was crowded. Nice place, good atmosphere and really good service. Looking at the menu, it's typical fare for an Italian restaurant, but not always prepared the same as others. I ordered the ceasar salad to start and the pappardelle and steak for dinner. My associate ordered the meatballs to start and the chicken piazolle for dinner. Service was quick and friendly. They bring out a basket of garlic bread to each table complimentary, very tasty. Full bar available for cocktails or spirits. The salad and meatballs came out within 10 minutes and both looked and tasted very good. The dinners arrived just after finishing the apps and both looked wonderful. Preparation and presentation were both a 9 out of 10. These dishes were well thought out and tasted soooo good. The papardelle and steak I ordered was prepared with a white wine sauce the was so great, if you put it on a flip flop it would taste good. Really, that good. The chicken piazolle was prepared with a sauce that was also very tasty. Neither of us had any complaints about or dining experience. I will go back again when I'm in the area next time to try other dishes.

Stopped by this lovely Pizza place on our first visit to Arcadia University. While we were waiting for our order to be baked (16" Round Margharita Pie) - we were surprised to get a platter of fresh baked Italian bread with hot Marinara sauce (something we had not ordered) - on the house, mentioned "something to munch on while the Pizza is getting ready" - Delicious food and very homely service. The Margharita Pie came by soon afterwards and was very delicious. On the way out, they told us to take our picking of the fresh sugar donuts heaped on the counter - on the house. :) :) - Delicious food, very friendly and attentive (homely) service!! Will be a repeat visitor to this place every time i visit. Highly recommended!!

We were very happy to try the gluten free items. We had chicken Bryan with gluten free pasta, Caesar salad made gluten free, and then (for me) champagne chicken. Delicious and having a waiter being able to help decide on the gluten free items was terrific.

Who knew this little BYOB gem was here in this strip shopping center? But what a great meal! Everyone in our group had a completely outstanding meal!We went to this place to celebrate our mom's birthday. She absolutely loved it! Her mussels appetizer was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was delicious. Others split a Linguine Pescatore pasta dish and also loved the sauce. The seafood was prepared perfectly. I had the grilled romaine salad, which was good and light, though not great. It needed something more than just a plate of grilled lettuce.Three people got the fish special, which was a grilled Chilean sea bass. I don't usually like that fish but tasted it and thought it was delicious. Mom was happy as a clam with her Linguine with Clam sauce (pun intended!), and the restaurant makes their own pasta. I had Risotto Pescatore. I am picky about risotto, but this was creamy and delicious and the seafood was plentiful and perfectly prepared: shrimp, mussels, calamari and clams. Portions are very generous and there was plenty to take home.Normally I would forego dessert (I was stuffed), but there was a birthday involved. So we got a Peanut Butter Tartufo, which was split into 4 pieces and more than enough for 3 of us! It's basically an ice cream version of a Snickers bar: peanut butter ice cream coated with caramel, wrapped in a chocolate shell. Though stuffed, there was no resisting! The lighting was weird. They really need an electrician. Lights kept dimming and brightening, and it seemed to coincide with the air conditioning. Hopefully they'll get that fixed, as it was rather annoying. Though the food preparation was high end, prices were really down to earth and reasonable. An espresso was $1.95. The tartufo was $7.95 and my risotto was a bargain at $21.

This place has a lot of specialty/gourmet pizza and most of them are really good. You'll always find a slice of something good, but they sell out of a lot of the specialty pizza around lunch. Often we've ordered whole specialty pizzas because they are really good and that is one of the few ways you can get them. The garlic knots are also amazing. I heard the sandwiches are good, but we haven't really had them. Our favorite pizza is the Buffalo Chicken pizza. Best we've ever had.

Went here for lunch to get some soup and crab cake salad. The soup was great (sweet potato and parsnip) being very tasty, which I would definitely recommend. My wife and I both got crab cake salads which included one lone (and smallish), heavily breaded, fried crab cake perched atop fresh arugula greens. The arugula along with the dressing was tasty, but we struggled to eat what we could of the crab cake. We were surprised (and disappointed) at this, and the somewhat slow service exacerbated our feelings.
