Disappointing meal considering all the good reviews. It was a Fri night, the fish and chips were burnt and fish itself was tough. Reuben was OK and so were the sliders. Nothing worth going back for with higher than average prices. Again, the service was OK- we would have sent the fish back but the waitress had disappeared after leaving food and we were tired and didn’t want to wait anymore and just wanted to go home.

We stopped by for lunch on the Saturday afternoon and the place was fairly busy. There was seating outdoors and customers could seat themselves unless wanted to be seated outside. There was a bar inside that had a bar tender but no other wait staff was visible. As we werent in a rush we waited about 25 minutes before the bartender came by and asked if anyone had come by. She provided us with menus and took our drink orders. The beers were enjoyable. The lunch menu is more limited and did not have the spaetzle or salad options. My husband ordered the Hasselhoff (their version of a cheesesteak) I ordered the Iggy (pulled chicken sandwich). We enjoyed both sandwiches and would like to try their dinner menu sometime.

The problem with this restaurant is that nothing jumps out at you as being a favorite. The food is above average but the variety is not. I also didn't have the greatest of service. The interior of the restaurant itself is not inviting. Thanks for the feedback Doreena. We're sorry to hear your experience did not exceed your expectations. Stopped in here at the last minute and we were pleasantly surprised. Good atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Large bar area. Very good service. The food was very fresh and we enjoyed it. It was better than I'd expected and definitely would recommend if you're at Wegmans or in the mall area.

Came for dinner with a friend. The server was friendly and courteous, the food was first-rate, especially the Cattleman's Burger and the sausage pizza. My friend was impressed with the beer special offered during the hockey game on the big screen TV's. We also enjoyed the old fashioned inn atmosphere. We are planning on visiting again very soon.

Spring House Tavern

We recently had a birthday meal at the Spring House Tavern. We started with appetizers of a Baked Onion Soup and an item called Massachusetts Yacht Club Salmon Bites. The onion soup was a nice French onion style soup, but was actually a little sweet. The salmon bites were nothing very interesting; ground up salmon with some form of filler with an aioli for added flavor since the salmon bites did not have much flavor of their own. For our entrees we selected the Spring House Famous Crab Cakes and the New Jersey Scallops. We didn't realize that the entrees included a house salad, if we had we would have skipped the appetizers. Our entrees were served with fried potato wedges and green beans as a vegetable. The potato wedges were nicely seasoned, the green beans plan. As for the entrees, there were a total of 3 pan seared scallops with a lemon beurre blanc sauce. These were enjoyable, but I would have preferred a little browner outside sear. As for the crabcakes, I was surprised how big these were. And they contained a large majority of crab, without any noticeable filler and no shell bits. They were absolutely delicious; by far the best crabcakes either of us has ever had, and we've tried many. I highly recommend this item. After our meal, we retired to the bar where we had a couple of alchohol infused coffees.

Our daughter and son-in-law who live in the area brought us here when we were visiting recently. They were trying it too for the first time. The ambiance is beautiful and the menu very comprehensive. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. I had a BBQ burger, which every pub from here to Honolulu can make pretty well, but here the pulled pork had way too much vinegar in the sauce and the burger itself tasted like it had been frozen (dry and rubbery). The fries that accompanied the sandwich weren't bad, but fries are fries. We'll give it another try sometime, but there are so many other good restaurants to try in the meantime.

This two-story gastropub in downtown Lansdale is beautifully built into an historic building with an exposed brick interior and cozy tables and booths. I was in a group of four and we were seated upstairs. Service was attentive and good. The excellent Poor William cocktail made with gin, st. germain, pear and lemon was a great way to start my meal: the catfish po-boy sandwich with fries and a small salad. All were delicious. The other three folks in our group enjoyed their meals too, which included the burger and the smoked chicken pot pie. There were a lot of good-looking local and regional beers on the menu too. We'll be back.
