Glasbern perfectly combines farm fresh dining, distinctive lodging, rustic luxury events and a 150 acre working farm. Step out of the ordinary and experience our selection of locally sourced items, gracious hospitality in a restored barn with stone wall,
I hope the folks at Glassbern regard the value of TripAdvisor in addressing guest's point of view. My wife and I, seasoned world travelers, in celebration of our 54th anniversary booked a room using a Groupon discount. We live in the area. Based upon our experience it was a lovely venue and a fine value. Having perused the reviews I suspect that the Inn's management strategy may have been modified to accommodate Glassbern's beliefs concerning the discount guest. If this is so they have mistakenly characterized the Groupon user. It was available; we used it. Why not? If they have dumbed down the menu offerings believing it to be commensurate with their strategy of a broader (discount-driven) audience, perhaps they might be wise to rethink this. They offer a Sunday thru Thursday three-course prix fixe dinner menu ($30 per) that is most unimpressive. We opted for the regular menu and though what we ordered was hardly haute cuisine, it was unusually well executed and satisfying. I believe they forthrightly honor their farm-to-table claim. The room was quite nice, well-appointed, sleep number bed and with hot tub as well. Small fridge, Keurig and microwave, small safe, etc. Cost of overnight stay, $115, including breakfast. Breakfast was, by any standard, really well done. Wonderful variety - a standout menu from Irish oatmeal thru beautifully plated Benedicts (and everything in between). The staff clearly is guest-focused; however it is clear that they are charged with much multi-tasking and though, to a person, each was personable and professional in all regards - they were manifestly harried, flying about in all directions - and truly giving their all in service, in smiles, and in good conscience. There is a sign (I believe it was in the Front Desk area) that mentions the demands on the staff and requests - for want of a better word - forbearance. My wife and I would, without question or pause, return for another stay. Based upon the notations of other TripAdvisor reviewers, we'd likely avoid holidays. I give Glassbern Inn a strong recommendation. If the Groupon is available, do it!

We are located on 443 in lehighton next to Fedor's car wash.
Had pulled pork and brisket sandwich. As the title says, lots of meat on both. While tasty and tender, the meat lacked a smokiness I like. The cole slaw is really nice. Good value. Be warned - the sandwiches are wet and sloppy, but good eating.
Everything you need in a small local general store! Deli makes delicious lunches. Deli is unfortunately not open after 3:30 during the week but still great for lunch! The Toasty Beef and Cheddar on Ezekiel bread is super delicious and some what healthy! Always friendly service from everyone I have ever run into there!

I wandered in here after 4 days on the Appalachian Trail. It's ideally located as the trail passes directly by the place. My burger, salad and beer were like a dream come true. Tasty and reasonably priced.Kenny (the owner) offered me a B&B overnight stay in a king room with Jacuzzi tub. Priced at $115 it looked like a nice room and I took the deal. Well, looks can be deceiving, the tub was great and the bed comfortable but the loud music with patrons singing along late into the night was really rather rude.Breakfast the next morning was a total afterthought on Kenny's part. A sad offering of eggs and bacon were provided by an owner obviously who'd just rolled out of a drunken slumber. If I could do it all over again... I'd enjoy the fabulous dinner and beer, then move on down the trail.

I've seen so many recommendations for the old Bake Oven Inn that I finally had to try it. First of all, you wouldn't even know it was a restaurant unless you caught the Sunday Brunch sign on the telephone pole. It looks like an old farm house. The small bar is right inside the door, which is where I sat. They had interesting bar treats...not your usual run of the mill popcorn, but curried popcorn, flatbread with fresh veggies, cheese and ham bits. They run a monthy mojito special using mint from right outside the backdoor. This month is black raspberry and it is yummy. Their menu is varied and always changing, depending on the season. I had the house salad and the seared scallops...both were outstanding. They also serve a rosemary herb bread baked in a terra cotta flower pot served with fresh garlic oil and fresh butter. The bartender, Brian, was friendly and chatty. I'm so glad I finally made it there...and I will be going back many many times. So nice to have a higher end restaurant relatively close by.

I got to Curious Goods at the Bake Oven very often. Their chef, Mark, makes some excellent sauces and meals--we feel like we're dining in some off the path excellent place in New York City. I think it's important to tell your waitress exactly how you want your food because that's the best way to get exactly what you want. Mark, the chef, wants to please.
This is my type of place. Like a local British pub - but America style. Sit at the bar, have a couple of beers 'sandwiched' around some great food. We had steak sandwiches - awesome. Fries are - as has you will probably be told - a must. Really really good eating. Friendly service and friendly (but not too friendly) locals. If you are in the area, worth driving out of the way for. Food was a bit slow coming out - but that made for more time to enjoy the experience.
Had lunch with family. Food was really good. Not platters but great burgers, steak sandwich and other sandwich and appetizer type food. Clean and friendly place. We ate in bar area, but they have a dining area away from bar also.

I was at this restaurant twice now within two months; March2016/May2016 and both times were awful! I do remember going here a year or two ago and the food was good, never "over the top delicious" by any means, but edible. The last two times I have been to this establishment, not only myself found the food awful but other family members. For example: We ordered chicken tender/strips. They were over-cooked and the breading was dark brown-black-almost burnt. There wasn't any flavor to the meat or breading. My family member ordered mashed potatoes and a patty melt. The mashed potatoes again had NO FLAVOR and were plain/mushy. The patty melt was again under seasoned and over done with onions that were more raw than sauteed. Fries were also awful. Too dark, no flavor. Same mistakes. I am not sure what is going on with this place, but they need to get their cooking straight/fixed or they will lose customers and their business. I am certainly not going back and neither is my sister.
