While staying in the area my husband and I sought a local breakfast cafe. We chose Meghans and were very happy with our omelettes. Meat Lover and Vegetable Omelettes were generous, not salty or greasy, and include choice of toast or English muffin. Very friendly staff, small and cash only. Parking in front and rear. Broad selection of egg, pancake, french toast dishes. I skipped the pancakes, being a New Englander I am a bit of a maple syrup snob, so as the syrup was imitation, I didn't bother with pancakes. A welcome respite from hotel breakfast.

Whenever I am in area I always grab a cheesesteak here. The bread is perfect and the sandwich is stuffed with meat. I added cheese whizz for the first time and really liked it for a change of taste. You can add onions and mushrooms for a little extra which makes a great sandwich even better. You have enough to eat half now and half later.

Dining at the award winning Mendenhall Inn stands alone as one of the great destinations in the Brandywine Valley as you return to a time of classic elegance & charm. Entrees borrowed from French & classic American cuisine make dining at The Mendenhall In
Attended the Mother's Day Champagne Brunch event in the ballroom and was completely unimpressed. Unfortunately, all 7 people in our party felt the same way. This was my first time to Mendenhall Inn and had heard good things over the years but that wasn't our experience. Check-in and paying was completely unorganized, the food was just mediocre, some of the heated trays were barely warm when you put it on your plate and was cold by the time you got back to your table, flow of buffet made no sense, no one guiding the guests the right away and other patrons seemed equally confused, and the service in the ballroom was okay but very slow for anything you needed and to clear plates. I sat with an empty water glass and with dirty plates stacked on our table for over 35 minutes. I understand this was a large event but for what they charged, this was completely disappointing and they should've had their ducks in order.

Have been to the Dilworthtown several times and service is always good as is the food. But it was better, both food and service. This visit wasn't much different, server was good but the food was slow.Starters were all good escargots and mushroom soup. Entrees were NY Strip steak and mixed grill, the steak came out medium to medium well when it was ordered medium rare. The mixed grill was good 4 different types of meat, some were good some were a little overcooked. The crab mac and cheese that came with the steak was very good.Dessert was very good, carrot cake and blueberry crisp.

Dear Terrain, I love you an awful lot. I sometimes go to hang out there, wander around for inspiration, just because I find the setting to be so beautiful, creative and inviting. Sometimes I eat. Yesterday was one of those days and it reminded me of the numerous times I've had a nice meal there. I always look forward to the fun drinks especially. The problem is value...it's always been the value. I don't find the food to be stellar, but consistently very good and considering the setting, that's fine. But again, value. I ordered the peach salad with arugula and cheese. It was delicious. The problem was, I ate it in about 5 bites and you charge $15 for it. It was a side salad at best, and not a lunch salad. I don't need oversized portions of anything, but if you are going to charge $15 for a salad, make it substantial. It didn't even contain meat or fish! And you can't claim the cheese was costly because it was a mere spread on the side of the bowl. I suppose you don't feel you have to do better because you're already so popular, but that's unfortunate. I did enjoy the meal but couldn't help feeling completely taken advantage of. And sadly after many a meal there, I've regularly felt that way. I think from now on I'll stick with the drinks.

The Gables at Chadds Ford is situated on land that was originally part of a 138 acre land grant from William Penn to Brinton King. Around 1745, a pre-Revolutionary style house was built on the property. This was one of the first homes to be built in Penns
We frequently meet friends for lunch at The Gables and have never been disappointed. This is an a-typical Chester County Fine Dining restaurant. We find it so relaxing to meet friends here. It is like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket on a freezing winter night. The food is excellently prepared - normally I have Fish & Chips when I go out for lunch )I have had the fish & chips at The Gables and is is very good) - but this time I wanted to try another favorite - Mussels. It is actually Mussels Frites. I had never thought of having Mussels with Fries but believe me the combination works. My partner had a Monte Cristo and loved it. When we meet here with our friends for lunch it is normally a Saturday and almost every time Mike M is our server. He is very friendly and knowledgeable.I can't say enough - just go try The Gables and you will fall in loveThank you so much for your wonderful review! We are so glad Mike has always made your meal so enjoyable. We hope you continue to come back!

We have had several meals at Joe's and this one not one of the best. Food was good as always but the service was a little slow. In the past they would leave water on the table so you could fill your own glasses but they didn't do they this time and they only came around once to refill the water glasses. Starters came out pretty fast but the entrees took at least 30 minutes after the starters. It was on of those, I just checked and the food will be right out nights. Our server stopped by at least twice to say that.Hello John,While I am glad that you have enjoyed dining with us in the past, I am sorry to hear that everything sounds like it was not up to our usual quality standards on this visit. Please accept my apology.Feedback from our guests is our most valuable tool for retraining our servers so I am hoping that you will remember who your server was? With the wait time you described, a manager should have definitely been notified. As for water, our servers are taught to constantly refill water glasses but are never to leave bottles on the tables unless a guest specifically requests it.While i know that you were not asking for or expecting anything I would like to send you a gift card towards your next visit. I am positive that we can make everything perfect for you when you return. If you will kindly reach out to me at [email protected] I will try to make things right for you. Please include your your full name and mailing address when you respond. Any information on your server is also appreciated,Thanks

We visited based on great reviews and interest in steak. While the ambiance was lovely and the service superb, the steak prices were ridiculous. And we were not sure we could eat that much. So the crab appetizer was perfect. Beautifully seasoned huge lump crabmeat. Out of this world, like back in the day on the Eastern Shore of Maryland when dad or mom picked the crab for you and gave you all the good stuff and you didnât have to pick it grilled Romaine salad with shrimp was lovely, burger was superb. Truly delightful.
