Find out what American restaurants to try in Bala Cynwyd. Bala Cynwyd ( /ˈbælə ˈkɪnwʊd/ BAL-ə-KIN-wuud) is a community in Lower Merion Township which is located on the Main Line in southeastern Pennsylvania, bordering the western edge of Philadelphia at US Route 1 (City Avenue). This came about when a single US Post Office served both towns (the "Bala Cynwyd" Branch) using ZIP code 19004. The community was long known as hyphenated Bala-Cynwyd. These guys know GOOD Beer and they make it even better. It appears they got inspiration from the great farmhouse breweries in Belgium and then combined their knowledge of beer making with good old American ingenuity --- voila â they created some master brews, all balanced, but demonstrating what an imaginative and passionate bunch they are. Fuzzy Green, a Cucumber IPA or Milkshake IPA (Extra Vanilla Double) or the Ourison, a lengthy cask conditioned Saison. Everything is produced locally, on-site, in small batches, and with the freshest, high quality ingredients. The beertenders are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Parking available in their lot. I picked up several 4-packs to enjoy at home.

This is a small neighborhood place thatâs been around for several years. Nothing unique about the menu, but the food is always excellent. One of the owners is always on premises making sure everything is running smoothly. No reservations, and youâll have to wait for a table if you show up between 6:00 and 7:30 most nights. Highly recommended.

Winnieâs is located in the quaint Manayunk section of Philadelphia, an old mill town that has been rebuilt and rediscovered in recent years to become one of the most vibrant destinations in the city of Philadelphia. Our food is lovingly crafted by Chef Se
Very good brunch and lunch at reasonable prices. Service inconsistant depending on crowd. Extensive menu with somethig good to satisfy every taste and preference. Will please all dietary demands. Long waits and slow table service are possible downsides. If a table is available; take it. Full bar service.

Visited with friends. Server tried to please but kitchen not too cooperative. Food varied from very good (french toast and omelet) to really weird. They called it Huevos Rancheros but like none I've ever seen before. Strange combiation of ingedients with little flavor and no eggs, nachos or saucing, It was a vegetable stew with bland cheese?, Coffee ok but not refilled. Price and large portions seem to be the attraction Noisy and kitchen always appears to be overwhelmed by orders and backed up, yet "regulars" fill the place.

Other cheesesteak joints get more press but none compare to Mamas. BIG!, lots of flavorful, juicy sliced steak, a ton of cheese and topped with nicely caramelized fried onions; the best in town. Easily satisfies two healthy appetites. Table seating and takeout. Call ahead for faster service.

Every time I go to Philly I try a different top rated place, in the search of the perfect cheesesteak. Last year was Tony Lukeâs and this year I chose Dalessandros. Considering how packed it was, an about 15 min wait to eat at the bar seating wasnât too bad. The cheesesteak was flavorful and filling. All of the fixings that are traditional to a Philly cheesesteak. Tony Lukes was juicier, but Dalessandroâs was still tasty and a great experience.

Excellent food, menu, and service. Casual, and friendly atmosphere. Salads, Mussels, Crab cakes, traditional "continental" favorites. One of the main lines best at affordable pricing to boot. Just like this to special occasion dining. Why travel miles for less? Never disappointed in food or service. Large portions, great veggies and desserts all add up to a special night out.

I always enjoy whatever I get at the cafe or the bistro. I especially like the lunch options. The food is fresh, healthy and there's always something interesting to choose from. There are some nice cocktails as well. I come a few times a year and it's always a good experience. Will be back for sure! I've also had the catering at work a few times and it's great and they always provide extra focaccia :)

Hymie's is a classic "New York style" delicatessen with excellent food and great service. The waitstaff is very attentive. I had a pastrami reuben which is as good as I have ever had and certainly the largest. My wife had a chicken livers sandwich which was equally excellent. The sandwiches both came without extras such as French fries but, who cares, there was plenty to eat. The place was fun, the food was great. It was well worth the visit.
