From the crowded parking lot on arrival, it was clear this was a popular place. As a first time visitor I didnât know what to expect beyond prior reviews here. Cutting to chase, laid back atmosphere and decor...donât expect fancy anything. But...spectacular and friendly service. Nice variety in the menu and very good food in decent size portions. Definitely would return. Didnât visit bar area but looked like folks were having fun. Maybe next time.

Wonderful food, perfect atmosphere and an amazing overall experience. Would HIGHLY recommend a visit here. Great for a casual lunch or a special evening out. BOLD will also do private events and special occasions. Check them out, definitely worth it.

This is not your typical restaurant as it has more of a honky thonk atmosphere with waite staff occasional lined up to line dance. It is loud between music and a full house. The service is good and the food ordered comes out promptly. The food is good as well as the temperature. The area inside and out is well cleaned with good parking available. Access is readily available also. Depending when you arrive be prepared to wait for a table. If in the Altoona area this would be a good place to eat.

Stopped in for the first time and was a little confused walking into the store, so I assumed there was another entrance so I left. But, you enter the store only to find hostess station in the rear corner. Every employee was very friendly and the food is delicious! Had the fried chicken and itâs definitely the best, period! No one does chicken this good. Will definitely return!

Celebrating 100 years 1918 to 2018, of continuous business in downtown community of Altoona, PA. This nostalgic restaurant business was established in 1918 is the only "Texas Weiners / Altoona's Original Texas Hotdogs" location originally owned and operat
Texas Hot Dogs is indeed a long-standing Altoona culinary tradition. It's been around so long reflection is necessary to figure out why. The prime answer is their hot dogs are simply delicious. They aren't gigantic knockwurst types, nor foot-longs, but rather the kind you wish was staple at every ballpark in the country. The hot dogs are served with a condiment topping augmented with chili and onions. Service is quick, caring, and the price is remarkably inexpensive. The other surprise was just how delicious the french fries turned out to be. The other lure of Texas Hot Dogs is the simplicity of the operation. Expert hot dog and deep fry cooks working as a team emanating pride in their classic establishment. This dedication is matched by the throngs of local who have made this such a tradition.

If you are looking for local character, quick service, daily specials, unbelievable portions, and delicious meals, check out Tim's American Cafe. We had no problem with seating for a late lunch. The regular salads are huge, plenty for two or great leftovers. Highly recommend the Cajun chicken salad with pasta in place of fries. The Cajun shrimp salad was amazing & fries were handcut & the red wine vinegar dressing was perfect. Those with average appetites will be taking half of their meal home. Prices are very reasonable - including $3 Yuenglings! Free parking just across the street, enter side door.

We were staying at the Hampton Inn right next door, so this was a convenient place to hang out each night. They have televisions throughout the bar showing various sporting events, so there was always something to watch. The service, both at the tables and the bar, was excellent. Never had to wait long to order food or drinks. If you go, make sure you try their pizza. It was fabulous!

Possibly named The Kinickerbocker Tavern?
This restaurant is on the edge of a neighborhood and looks like a small city bar from the outside. Behind the bar in between the brick buildings is a quaint patio. The restaurant has an eclectic modern menu with some surprises. Great drink and beer menu.

I ordered the fish tacos, and had the choice of baked, blackened or fried. Not wanting the calories or the spices, I ordered baked which was pretty flavorless. It was also strange that they added feta cheese, but it worked. My husband had the Chicken Parmesan which was tasty and came with spaghetti. I regretted not having the pizza or something that the establishment is known for as we watched the food being delivered to other tables. The place is large enough that we had no wait, the service was attentive, and the parking ample. Next time its beer and pizza.
