We arrived late for our lunch reservation and lost our table, ended up close to the toilets which carried a certain aroma.
Starters very ordinary and uninspired, main course only slightly better, noisy ambience from large family parties. Didn't stay longer.
Slow service, especially on trying to pay and get out.
Not something to repeat.

Bar restaurant that produces their own beers on site!A typical Brew Pub. We serve 11 types of different craft beers. To eat, we noticed the best Argentine cuts, grilled to perfection!
We always come to Penedo because my father in law lives In Resende.
We heard about this bar and decided to try it.
Food was good and prices were average. But the service.. TERRIBLE..
We had to wait at least half an hour to be served any beer.. And then we simply gave up and started getting up and going to the bar to get ourselves.
Not to mention that at nine pm in the middle of the holiday .. They simply ran out of lager beer..
Never ever are we coming back!

I was there yesterday, 3rd March and was overwhelmed by the choice but there little information about the different types. I would agree with CLEIDE FERREIRA F comment that the choclate is very sweet and to my taste. I when got back I realised I had left some choclate bars on the counter but I was I the next room where they sell the ice cream for quite a while. They would have noticed I had left them as they were right in front if the gentle men who did my order. They are also no prices and quite a lot of there items so you have no idea if you're being over charges

Really positive: there are some toys inside were my youngest entertained himself throughout dinner!
Negatives: we arrived and ordered early, at around 6:30pm. Food did not arrive until 7:25pm. Kids were desperate already! Other than that, it's a lot of food, but not very elaborate or tasty, just a lot.

This restaurant was very good. The food was well cooked, well seasoned, with a harmony of flavors. There were plenty of excellent choices to choose from, and really friendly service. The location is amongst trees next to a stream, and there are so many gorgeous, colorful birds, many of them Humming Birds, as well as other wild life that adorns the place. The colors of the restaurant are vibrant and happy. It is truly an enchanted place, but not better than Jardim Secreto, which had the very best food and service in Penedo.

While Rei das Trutas in Penedo serves up some of the best tasting trout we've had in Penedo, the facility (despite lots of signs and advertising) is pretty meager. The quality of food, however, is delicious. There is also a children's playground outside, but it's quite far from the restaurant itself (e.g. 15 meters across the parking lot). No English at all, but the staff was at least friendly enough to humor our poor attempts at Portuguese without laughing. In the end, it's a much simpler place than their advertising would suggest, but the fish is worth it!

What can I say about Deck? The pizza is by far and away the best in town-- in fact, it's the best in the region. I've spent almost two years here, trying restaurant after restaurant, and nothing else compares. But, you'll pay for the quality, as Deck is about 20%-40% hire than the competition. That added cost, however, gains you a balcony dining experience overlooking adorable Penedo where live music and happy local tourists engage your senses. The pizza is unbelievable-- the crust is thin and crispy from the brick oven and simply can't be matched. And, it's served on a cast iron platter that maintains the warmth of the pizza for well over a half hour. Service is great-- the owner and his daughter are lovely and endearing people, and they just want you to enjoy the experience. It's quaint and laid back-- no need to dress up. Good beer, wine, and drink selection, too. Little touches like fresh basil and oregano, plucked off little bushes while you watch through the aquarium-like kitchen glass, make this the best little pizza joint within 100km! Enjoy!!
