One of our favorites in Kalamata/Verga. Fantastic views. Loud music from the beach clubs below in the summer until about 8pm. Nice music, though. Great Greek food. Mousaka, fish, pork - all very good. Family run restaurant. In winter the oven roasted lamb with Greek roasted potatoes is fantastic, but not served every day. Our dog Daisy is a celebrity there.

Very nice place by the yachts at the port of Kalamata. The food was amazing and one of the waiters was aware about celliacs and gluten and assure us to that the kitchen would take the necessary precautions preparing our dishes. The prices were dissent but not cheap and the service very good. A family could eat with 75euros (4 dishes, 2-3 starters, and 4 refreshments).

Possibly the best restaurant in Kalamata, hidden in a magical olive plantation, led to by an unpaved road, some 50 meters long. This is one youâll never forget. Look it up in Google Maps or similar, because the location shown here (TripAdvisor) is wrong. Go for the fresh fish. Itâs by far the best catch in town. Service is flawless and the hospitality is wonderful.

We ate here a couple of times during this holiday. The food was generally excellent and the service was both attentive and friendly. Hidden Garden is slightly more sophisticated in its cooking than some places, for example the specials menu had roasted rabbit which was delicious. Lightly battered, fried courgette and aubergine with tzatziki were fresh, simple and lovely. Portions were generous. The moussaka was not quite as good as we have had in other places. We were disappointed to be charged â¬2 for a miniature bottle of olive oil when we asked for it to go with the bread. Incidentally, why have Peleponese restaurants started bringing a miniature (over packaged) glass bottle of olive as oil, instead of having a cruet set on the table as they always used to? We noticed it in a couple of restaurants. Within 50 km of Kalamata, famed for its olives and it's oil, this does seems a bit unnecessary. Easy parking in this mixed fishing and tourist seaside village.

The Carmel (Haifa) Choir is currently at the Choir festival in Kalamata. As a group we had a light lunch here today. Everybody enjoyed the food they ordered: salads, roasted sardines, eggplant salad, etc. The restaurant sits facing the marina and if you have a sunny day like we did it is a most enjoyable experience. The service was very efficient and pleasant. Best of all was the wonderful food the chef prepared in a reasonably short time.
