My husband and I had lunch here and really enjoyed sitting out on the deck by the waterfall. The hamburgers were delicious.

We love Edgar's. Our inner circle is crazy about their white cake with white icing. Other family favorites are strawberry cake, caramel cake and petit fores. We don't eat in the cafe, but their grab and go pound cakes, cookies and breads are highly recommended.

We lucked into eating here, as it was close to our hotel. The food was very good. It isn’t the Mexican food we are used to in Indiana. The food was better than any Mexican food we have eaten before. The shrimp fajitas and beef chimichanga were well prepared and tasty. The drinks were good. The waiter was helpful, personable, and checked with us regularly. Great place to eat.

Back in 2004, Kash along with some classmates had decided to plan a restaurant for their senior level marketing class at UAB. The project took the full course of the semester and after several grueling months of research they came up with an idea to start a seafood restaurant with a beach feel. The final business plan was to be presented in front of a group of investors. Following the presentation, the investors stated that as long as the business plan was followed, it would be successful. Hearing their response they decided to give it a shot. They figured they would not have a hard time getting started as they had some connections with a large seafood supplier in Bayou La Batre, Louisiana. The original concept had been to have a seafood market as well as a restaurant. So naturally they started off as just a seafood market and decided to grow into the restaurant side. Once they started the restaurant side however, business was kicking off well. The market side was eventually shut do
This cozy restaurant is an enjoyable place to be out with friends or family. Multiple TV's so you won't miss the game and a nice selection of adult beverages. Particularly liked their Bloody Mary's. Food was very good but with smallish portions, but the prices were very acceptable so you could order more than one item if your real hungry. Gumbo was excellent, They have several good shrimp dishes. Fried green tomatoes are wonderful and the cheese grits are good. If you like oysters but cant eat a full order you can order a half. Would definitely go again.

Great fried chicken. Sides are good also. Our waitress was just friendly enough and attentive enough. Good prices. Food was really hot to the table, nothing sitting around in the kitchen, grease made. Go here for sure, you will not be disappointed!

Everything I have had here before has been delicious. Steaks, seafood, fish tacos, burgers - there is something for everyone. Make sure to get the Powerful Stuff for dessert. I don't usually get desserts but this is to die for. The service is always great.

I chose this restaurant because of their gluten free options but discovered that there was only one gluten free pasta with only one sauce, rather than the “choice” advertised in the menu. The dish was over-sauced and with way too much basil. I could not catch a server’s eye to get more parmesan to cover the flavor and a glass of wine to wash it down until everyone else in my party had finished their meals which were dry and overlooked. My Mother-in-Law could not finish her lasagna. I left hungry and disappointed.

Arrived at 5:30 tonight for an early family dinner. We were the sole patrons in what looked like an old Shoney's building. Staff was very friendly. Great menu. However, the food was just completely bland. Wanted to like this place, but couldn't.
Order at counter, then they hand you premade salads, then you choose a table. Meat sauce needed a lot of flavor. Bread was generous and served warm, but some garlic or cheese would have been welcome. Desserts were pretty but we didn't indulge.

If you need a local place to take care of your family dinners or catering for your group events...this is the place!! Everything is made from scratch, fresh ingredients and packaged just perfect for travel.
My favorite "go to" dish for the family is beef tips and rice...seriously reminds me of my mom's homemade version. My fave "go to" dish for tailgates or gatherings...loaded chicken salad. You can get just the chicken salad or they have a variety of chicken salad plates, wraps or croissants.
They have a multitude of side items that come in a variety of sizes with seasonal items as available. Then...there are the desserts...to die for!!!
Go visit my friends at Home Plate Cooking or call ahead! They have their menus online and they are more than willing to customize your order for you, your event or special occasion.
