I recommend this restaurant facing the Grande Plage. We always try to go here at least once when we are in St Gilles.The food is lovely, always presented beautifully and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. My favourite desert is the Cafe Gourmand, mainly because I can never make my mind up what to have so a little bit of several is great!!Will be back again next year.

This restaurant is by the bridge in St Gilles and you pay for it.... it is a huge site and so a good choice for a table for 10. We ordered 4 of the childrenâs menus, which arrived quickly and were quite big, however the frites varied in amounts which caused consternation. We were able to have the longest frite competition, and the 3 year old won with a monster 20cm one.... where do these potatoes come from? Sadly the steak hachee was burnt on one side and we failed to attract the attention of the waitress, but the 6 year old cut enough off in the end....The burgers and frites were huge, but a bit expensive at â¬14.90 each.... and the scallops were a little underdone, ie not well caramelised on the outside... so a bit tasteless...It is a huge restaurant and as such the service and quality seem to suffer.... the price for 4 children and 6 adults, having only one course, was â¬165.10... a bit expensive for what we had, compared to other local restaurants... We will not return...

We went to Les 3 Mats with guests from the US, wanting to have them experience the best of St. Gilles' great seafood--oysters, fresh fish, mussels, scallops and lobster. Service was a bit slow but the oysters finally arrived and were fresh and good. The second courses were more disappointing. Lobster cassoulet had nothing to do with cassoulet and almost no lobster--no beans but basically a ragu of tomatoes, green peppers and onions with some small bits of lobster cooked in a little ceramic casserole. The profiteroles with scallops (an interesting idea) were 3 small pastry puffs with a scallop inside each--sauced with the same tomato-pepper ragu as the lobster. A simple snail butter would have been better. Sole was okay but a bit overcooked, and mussels were fine and copious. Cafe-gourmand was undistinguished with a rubbery small clafoutis among the desserts. We would not be tempted to return.

This unique little restaurant continues to delight. You can't get nearer to the sea and you can't get fresher fish. Since my last visit they've added some more comfortable seating but that's all that's changed - thank goodness! Still the same perfect service and lovely menu. Wonderful.

Enjoyable, so we ate here twice! We noticed how popular this restaurant was, so we reserved a lunchtime table on both occasions. The food was of a good standard, nicely presented and the service excellent - friendly and efficient. We both enjoyed the sole meunière so if you appreciate fish itâs recommended. Finally, no one tried to speak English to us = result!

We visited the Moulerie de la Gare for the first time based on recommendations from TripAdvisor.The restaurant is slightly off the beaten track for tourists but is immediately opposite the Railway Station . It is very busy and clearly has recently annexed the shop next door to provide extra covers (probably worth booking if there are more than two of you). This has, however, not hampered the efficiency of the waiting staff who were very attentive to our needs.We chose from the extensive (52 different recipes moules menu (there are other things available if you don't do moules) and I chose the Spanish moules with chorizo which were excellent. My wife had moules in white wine - also very good.Portions are huge so go hungry.Would certainly go again if in the area.

Went here on holiday with my veggie wife and 1 year old son. They catered well for both off menu and I enjoyed the lunch time menu. Particularly the local sardines. Good value lunch and pleasant surroundings inside. Even a change table in the toilets!

This restaurant is hidden away between a car park and the capitainerie. Very unassuming. However, once inside the attention to detail and the quality of food is impressive. The restaurant manager takes the time to explain each dish and each is superbly presented. Pleasant environment. Can't rate it highly enough.

We came here for a family get together, including a couple of elderly family members, with one in a wheelchair. The restaurant were very accommodating of this and we found the owners & staff to be friendly and welcoming. The menu was traditional but interesting and food was all prepared from fresh, expertly cooked and delicious. Highly recommended.

We went here as 3 friends and loved the location looking out over the sea. Best to get there early to get a table by the window.We had the 21 .80 euro menu of 3 courses. It was OK but the portions seemed on the small side for all of us. I had a good starter of sea food and crepe which was good and then the beef with potatoes and ratatouille, with a chocolate dish and ice cream as dessert. But overall the food and the welcome were Ok but not exceptional . There are so many wonderful places to eat around here that I don't think we would go back here again.
