We visited as the restaurant opened at 7. Within 1/2 hr the restaurant was packed! Food was lovely- galettes, followed by crepes. The banana split was a work of art!! The bolee of cidre was also very pleasant. We had no change so were unable to leave a tip which was a shame as the staff were brilliant and lovely. I would recommend heartily.

Nothing special. Gets very very hot in there when the sun's out. Food selection is not bad, prices not bad, location out of town in a shopping mall. Could be worse, I suppose, but certainly nothing to write home about

If you find yourself in Roch Sur Yon then a block of the main square is this fantastic resteraunt. Luckily I had other friends find it and drag me along. I love pizzas and this charming place now has its named etched in the top 3 I've had in the world. (The other two were both from places now gone, one on Huntington drive, Monrovia, California and the other in South Yarra, Melbourne Australia)There is a saying that you shouldn't expect great food from places that have pictures on the menu. Luckily for us they did have pictures as our French is very poor, but only 1 or 2 pictures. Although there is a range of pizzas and other fare on the menu, the choice was down to these 2. I honestly cant recall the name of either, but we each picked the same one that seemed to have a range of hams, and cheese on it. I added champignons (thats about the only french I know) and my friends did as well. Note: the pciture was not itself of the best quality! To cut to the chase - the pizzas which came to our table quite fast, were FANTASTIC. I cant recall savouring a pizza with a knife and fork for so long. A good quantiity of toppings and a very fresh base. Don't know what else to say - but the title speaks for itself Service was also very good seeing the place was full when we arrived (now we know why). There was no problem getting drinks during the course of our meal.So give it a try, you wont be dissappointedIf only we weren't in town for just a weekend!

The interior is what attracted us as we were driving down the main road into La Roche sur Yon and saw this restaurant as we were driving. Very modern, clean and cozy. The menu was quite expensive, you can either order a few things a la carte or use the menus but either way it ends up being pricey.Me and my husband ordered an appetizer + main course menu which was 21.80 euros each plus a glass of wine each at 4 euros each. The dishes were very well presented although the service was a bit slow despite having few people dining at the time we went.

This restaurant in downtown la roche sur yon was the dining establishment that our conference chose to eat at as we were numerous and their upper level could accommodate us.The waitresses seemed very confused and lost concerning some orders and did not really seem to understand what was going on.The food was very well presented (I forgot to take pictures except for the dessert) but well presented and quite tasty. As a group we had a menu with 2 options each for starter, main course and dessert... I had the melon with ham, duck confit and the exotic macaron and it was all very tasty.

The Marie Stuart is more than an exceptional restaurant. It is an exceptional experience. The Scottish proprietress is a delightful, friendly lady who takes a keen interest in her clientele. She is your aged aunt who has been awaiting your return. Her Guinness Book record-holding French husband is the doting uncle who makes sure you have everything you need and more. Beyond the exceptional service, the restaurant serves excellent home cooking from a menu focussed on a handful of quality meals. The Marie Stuart stands out as the best and perhaps only example of French-Scottish fusion cuisine. It is "le home cooked meal pour ma bairns."To top it off, the warm crowded Scottish decor gives that other worldly experience you would never expect in a regional French town. Do not miss the chance to dine here.

We had an outstanding night with outstanding service. Only down side is, we go home in a couple of days and wished we'd found it earlier. We arrived and we're warmly welcomed, they spoke fantastic English and even offered us an English menu. We found the food to be of great quality and ample size portions. Escargot were amazing as was the steak with Foie Gras. Pudding were the perfect finishing touch. Lots and lots of choices on the menu, both on food and wine. We would go back again, (in fact) we may have to squeeze in another visit before going home.

Cuisine du marche, proposition a l'ardoise.
1st time at Le Sale Gosse. Friendly & professional service. Good selection and high quality food. Would recommend to make reservation for any occasion (about up to 33 guests seating capacity). The restaurant was almost full during our lunch. Parking may be challenging and may take you up to 7 minute walk (Main Street to the Napoleon Plaza). Would return to Le Sale Gosse.

One of the things I liked most about the food is the lightness of touch. Two courses, Choux pastry with trout and wasabi cream, cod with butternut squash, peppery cress and flaked almonds were both full of flavour but not overpowering and the simple unadorned walls and small unpretentious setting (about 26 covers, it gets very busy so book) make this a cosy, comforting experience. Our very friendly waitress was the only member of staff in evidence and worked her socks off all evening. A must if your in La Roche for any length of time and you can get a table.Thankyou very much for your comment. We will be very happy to welcome you back to Le P'tit Marais.

Restaurant Bistronomique Offrant Une Nouvelle Carte Tous Les Jours Selon Les Arrivages Et L'inspiration Du Chef Nous Proposons Ãgalement Des Plats à Emportés Et Une Ãpicerie Fine Au Sein Même Du Restaurant
There's a lot of inventiveness with the food here and everything is well presented, an amuse bouche, the table settings , the decor, the friendly welcome. The scallop starter was good if a little lacking in flavour, the lamb cutlet not as interesting as the vegetable melange on the same plate and the meat was a little gristly and not the rose colour I asked for. Having said that, my partner proclaimed her perch one of the best pieces of fish she's eaten for a while in its chestnut sauce. The cheese course was oozing and salty but essentially cheese on toast. The bottle of wine recommended on the table was great value and maybe I was unlucky with the lamb so I will definitely go back and try again.
