My friends and I bicycled 10 miles and treated ourselves to lunch at this tea shop. We loved the cozy atmosphere and decorations.
I enjoyed most of the food....its presentation, uniqueness, and taste. I had the potato soup which was great. I also had the chicken salad croissant which looked delicious, but was a bit watery. My friends said their meals were delicious.
I liked the option of ordering a cup of soup, ½ sandwich, and taste of dessert....more than enough food and more than I expected. The pie was excellent.
In less humid weather it would be nice to sit out on the attractive porch. The owner obviously love their gardens. Nice flowers. They even had extra zucchini, cucumbers and flower bulbs outside for anyone to take for free.

The best! One of our favorite places to eat. A destination place for my out-of-town friends. We have tried everything on the menu. Always good. A very nice atmosphere. Very attentive wait staff. Great for lunch and dinner. Ribs are served only for dinner. My friend wanted the tips for dinner, but they are served only at lunch. A reason to return for lunch!!

We've been to Just Hamburgers a dozen times, and I always enjoy the rustic, small-town feel of it. We always bring our burgers to the outside picnic tables and eat while watching the traffic go by. I'm glad to see the owners are doing well enough to invest in a nice engraved granite sign.
This visit I ordered the grilled tenderloin and I didn't care for it much. Next time I'll go back to the standard burger. If you like lettuce and tomato, be sure to ask for them as an extra. That's not part of "everything."
The small ordering area was full, but the line moved quickly. It just shows how much people enjoy the food and the value. Most people order carry-out.

Driving down I-90 and coming to exit 261 turn off to Paxton, Il, you see The Country Garden Restaurant. The building on the outside is an old Hen House Restaurant Building from many years ago. The building needs an update, but once inside it is neat, clean, friendly, family owned, "like home", with very good service, and plenty of good food. The soup and desserts are great. My wife fell in love with the chocolate cream pie.
We were there for lunch on a Friday, and the fish was very good. The soup was very good, the steak sandwich was good ( a lot ) , and the pies were outstanding.
The ladies bath room needs an update along with the outside of the building to match the very good food inside.
This is a typical home style, family owned and operated place for good food, nothing fancy or expensive, but a nice stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

this is a chain in central illinois, it has it's own particular odd make-up of crust, cheese and fixin's. i have been to them in other towns and they all taste the same. not really pizza-like. odd.

The owner of this newly-opened upscale pub/restaurant has already had great, longterm success in Paxton with the Humble Hog restaurant (one of our family favorites) and so I anticipated equally loving the Harvest Ale House when my husband and I visited on their first regular weekend of business. We don't normally try a brand new restaurant until it's more established and the opening-kinks have been worked out so this was an exception to our rule. Though there was a small crowd gathered outside waiting for seating on a beautiful Saturday evening, we didn't have to wait for more than 5 minutes for our table for two. As so many restaurants, there isn't an ample waiting area for seating other than the bar (which was full) so in the winter months or on less-desirable weather days, this might be an issue. The atmosphere is lively (noisy, due to the high ceilings, but this isn't an issue as it's the norm at most popular restaurants), and it's pleasing to the eye with its wood floors, interesting historic pieces highlighting the history of the town, and the bar runs the length of the dining room and looks impressive. We were greeted by a friendly, eager server who seemed a bit stressed and anxious but that's understandable on a busy opening weekend. The draft menu features all local Illinois beers which we greatly appreciate and I'm looking forward to returning another time when they have their special cocktail menu in place (with prohibition era themed drinks, supposedly). The menu isn't that extensive but I imagine this will change from time to time. Husband found a steak and I ordered Salmon. The house salads were served in exceptionally-small bowls that were difficult to navigate without spilling some of the lettuce on the table so they might go with slightly larger bowls for the same portion (portion size was fine). :)
The food was delicious, drinks were good and all in all service was attentive, however the kinks needed to be worked out became evident as we neared the end of our meal:
1. We ordered a dessert to split - a slice of chocolate cake and waited and waited and waited.... Our server was visibly busy with many tables. That's understandable, but the issue is that there were OTHER servers, including what we believe must have been a manager as he stopped by our table once earlier to greet us and ask about our meal, who were all just walking back and forth around the restaurant during this time (not waiting on anyone) that our server was busy, while husband and I just sat at the table with no drinks and no food plates. A great tip (from one of our favorite restaurants that we frequent often): Servers/wait staff can assist each other! If one server is exceptionally busy and others' tables are not needing their service right now, they can check with the kitchen to see if there are food orders to come out (such as a slice of cake for dessert) and deliver those items to the tables. In other words, wait staff (including bartenders, managers, owners) need to assist each other, especially when it's busy.
2. While we sat with the 2 forks that the server brought us for our cake (but no cake), he eventually returned with the mobile payment device to process our check and we had to remind him that we did not get our cake yet, which he then returned to the kitchen to get. All of this waiting for a slice of cake took at least 15 minutes and there was obvious confusion involved. After finally receiving the cake, we waited again for the server to return for payment and after he began to do so, he left us to return to the back area to fix something on our bill (not sure what that was about).
We will likely return again, because it has great promise to be excellent, but only once the restaurant has been opened for a while and has a chance to work through these sorts of issues. The main suggestion is that management and wait staff all help each other, assisting in one another's tables when needed. If that is accomplished, you'd have less of a wait time for those standing outside (while we were sitting there just waiting on a piece of cake, there were others standing nearby waiting for tables), and happier customers who would be sure to return sooner rather than later.

We ordered a pizza not far back on a Sunday evening. It was chicken and ranch dressing. We all thought it was delicious. It is nice to get a pizza that was not burnt around the edges. Definitely would have it again.

We were very pleased with our dinner at Pueblo Lindo. Authentic Mexican food and u huge menu of choices. A guy could eat there every day for 6 months and not have the same thing. Little short of staff the night we were there, and the place was very busy. The food was hot and the beer not very cold, but all in all it was a good night and we will most likely return.

This place offers typical Chinese take-out food and is open 6 days a week. (Closed on Monday) My husband and I are impressed with the quality and consistency of the dishes that we get regularly -- sweet and sour chicken for him, Singapore angel hair for me. They are quick and friendly. A great place when you're in the mood for Chinese take-out.

Bfast was just superb. The Denver omelette was as good as any I’ve ever had. The accompaniments were fresh and perfectly prepared. If I was a local I would eat here twice a week.
