Pasadena Hotels | Places to Stay in Pasadena

Most famous for hosting the annual New Year's Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl, Pasadena is more than just a football town. Its extravagant City Hall boasts a beautiful Baroque dome, a courtyard garden and relaxing fountain. On South Orange Boulevard, known as Millionaires' Row, there are landmarked mansions to rival the most opulent homes of Beverly Hills. That chattering in the air is probably the local population of naturalized Red-crowned Amazon parrots.

Lovely Weekend Getaway

Reviewed By Hth408

We live in the Bay Area and drove down to Pasadena for a Memorial Day getaway. The Langham was a very “Pretty in Pink” home away from home for the three day weekend! The front desk and concierge provided maps of the property and suggested walking routes that helped us enjoy exploring the beautiful property and the local neighborhood. The location is convenient for visiting the Huntington Library nearby and DT Los Angeles is a quick drive away but staying here feels like you’re a world away in terms of tranquility. Valet service was prompt whenever we needed the car. The deluxe king accommodations were very comfortable and overall service was excellent. We highly recommend the Langham Huntington Pasadena!

Clean and friendly staff. The A/C was great too. Room was spacious. I wish I could have used the gym or even the bar or restaurant. But, it was a beautiful hotel. The restaurants and very cool downtown was walking distance.

Can't believe this is a Marriott - Horrible

Reviewed By R0xannaD

My son and I checked in to this hotel last Friday for a festival that was happening at the Rowe Bowl over the weekend. The prices seemed high, however I wanted something nice and close to the Rose Bowl. I am a Marriott Rewards Member and I figured this would be nice, even if a little over priced. We arrived around 9pm. Check in was fast, however we were starving and anticipated getting room service for dinner that night. There is NO room service There is not a "real" restaurant. They have a bistro area that closes at 10, where you can order food and pick it up. Once we got our room card, we were not told where the elevator was and walked in the wrond direction. Found one elevator in a back corner off a long hallway. Once to our room we did find another elevator (just one) closer to our room. It is very large hotel and two single elevators on opposite sides of the hotel was not sufficient. The rooms are very outdated and were not up to the ususal Marriott standards. There was a floor lamp in our room that was only standing up because it was leaning on a chair. The little alarm/clock radio was not working. Everything seemed old and outdated. I spoke to another gentleman staying there that is an engineer and he said he and his wife were also very unhappy with the hotel. He also mentioned seeing several city permits that were expired. I didn't see those myself, but seems up to par considering the condition of the hotel. It cost $1300 to stay there for two nights. Total price gouging. I am very dissapointed in Marriott.

Tired and Sad

Reviewed By luxuryqueenMelbourne

This is one of the allegedly better four star hotels. On the plus side, the bed is comfortable, the bar and valet staff are friendly. Nice bar and restaurant ambience. The room itself was reasonably sized. But I have never eaten room service (from a very limited menu) from plastic plates delivered in a paper bag with bendy plastic cutlery before. I didn’t make a fuss about the small bug in the lettuce but it didn’t leave me feeling super happy. Nothing in the mini bar except water. Not even a bar of over-priced ordinary chocolate?? The room was tired, chipped desk furniture, a stained office chair. I think there were three hangars in the wardrobe. C’mon Marriot - you should do better at this price point. I paid about the same for a Marriot at Sea-TAC that was soooo much better.

"Elies breakfast"

Reviewed By Mohavetred

I have stayed in many hotels with higher star ratings in many parts of the world over my 68 years. While my stays at the Royal Inn have always been pleasant, this recent stay was exceptional. After completing my check-in, the desk clerk kindly reminded me that they offered a complimentary breakfast. I was looking forward to a post-covid era hotel breakfast and so I awoke early from a good night's rest and headed down to the lobby. I experienced a breakfast that far exceeded my expectations. As i entered the dining area I was met with a warm and delightful greeting from the hostess. The fare consisted not only of the usual packaged foods and fruits but also freshly prepared hot pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage and potatoes that were as good, if not better than that of a fine restaurant. The hostess kept the serving area clean and the serving trays replenished while also assisting guests in the preparation of their waffles and offering to remove empty plates. She did all of this with smiles and friendly banter that left me feeling like a welcome guest in her home. It appeared she had this same affect on each guest. While I ate the room filled with people who were soon smiling and joining in the conversation and the laughter that this hostess engendered. I overheard a guest on her cell phone urging her husband to come down to the lobby adding, "You can't believe the breakfast down here." So, I hope that you will get to experience an "Elies breakfast" when you stay here, but I would not be surprised if Best Western or another company soon snaches her away to a more prominent position. Nevertheless, when you stay here you can count on considerate staff as well as a clean and pleasant room at a good value, but if Elies is still there it will be a stay of exceptional value.

Not for Construction Workers

Reviewed By HcnerF

I have had my crews stay at Best Westerns from Portland, OR all the way down to El Centro, CA without issue-Until this property. They didn't like myself or my crew and in return, I really didn't like them, their management or owners. I have been a "Diamond Select" member for the past 3 years. This is supposed to mean something-but not at this property. I don't want to continue bashing this property, but just know it's not for people in construction. I saw it was used for the casual traveler, some people seemed to be long term tenants, and men/women having "discreet encounters". The rooms are okay. There are no microwaves in the room. They have a "common" (no COVID issues there eh?) microwave in the laundry room-which closes at 10PM. The mattress was a little too firm for me personally. They have a great selection of cable channels. Plenty of other amenities-towels, hand towels, Coffee Maker, etc. I can't comment on room service as there isn't any due to COVID. The rooms are clean upon initial entry. They did accommodate us with items we had delivered for my project so I was grateful for that.

Saga Motor Hotel

Built 1957, the Saga Motor Hotel has been located on E. Colorado Blvd. (aka Route 66). The Saga is a boutique hotel with 70 guest rooms built around a large, heated pool and sun deck area in a garden setting surrounded by Palm Trees. In addition, the Saga is also located on the Tournament of Roses Parade route. While the Saga lets you step back in time to a day when actual keys were used to open hotel room doors and personalized service was common, we have all the “today” amenities you’d expect, including free, high-speed wireless service and cable television. We even have a business center, free computer services and small meeting room (in an informal and comfortable library setting) for groups of up to 20.

Route 66 Midcentury Gem! ❤️❤️❤️

Reviewed By moredustbowl

In the area for business and charmed by this “motor hotel” on Route 66! It’s very clean, and has maintained its original mid century modern aesthetic. The palm trees around the pool and central courtyard look original to the initial building of the motel. Such a nice place to come back to, with a couple of nice walkable meal options nearby. We will be back!

Clean, decent breakfast and reasonably priced

Reviewed By AnnaLapid

I wanted a safe hotel close to my museum and botanical gardens destinations, and the Pasadena Rose & Crown fit the bill. I didn't eat breakfast the first morning as I wanted to eat at Eggslut (that's another review) but did pick it up from the lobby this morning--scrambled eggs, sausage and a diy waffle--not bad, not bad, in fact, good. I like the furnishings, the hotel has kept up with updating. I appreciated the location too. Close to the freeway, walking distance to restaurants, a drug store, Target, even a Michaels, and a nail salon right across the street for a needed pedicure (why are manicures and pedicures cheaper in SoCal compared to the SF Bay Area?). Staff was courteous and attentive as evidenced by my immaculate room--I so appreciate a freshly mopped floor to dingy carpet. I'd return when coming to Pasadena.
