This is the cutest place, so much memorabilia and things to look at.... The food is very good, especially the beefy burger!!!!! service is hit or miss.... Personally, we've had more bad than good... Servers not checking back, having to find some one to get soda refill.... And the prices are pretty high.

We really had some great meals but when the last visit wasn't as great that's what you remember, I guess. Watch the rib count, chef musta been short and shorted on full rack. Not good, no explanation from waitress. Good servers are so important. We will give it another shot I'm sure!

This easy drive-thru coffee shop along the highway in Park Rapids, MN had the friendliest service I've ever encountered in a coffee shop! We passed through twice in one weekend and they were spot on! The coffee was delivered quickly and it was yummy! They have a drive up window on both sides of this quaint little shop. I highly recommend this place if you want a quick cup and don't want to leave your car. They have a website, too. I loved the Muddy Waters on ice.

The Good Life Cafe has excellent and unique menu choices. There is something for everyone in a fun atmosphere! The kids love their homemade gouda mac and cheese and I can't decide on a single favorite. We often choose The Good Life when dining out. Thanks a bunch, Mandy! I'm happy to hear that you and the family enjoy our atmosphere and our menu. So grateful for the kind words. See you again soon! Cheers, Molly, Owner

We were staying at a resort in the area for a week and someone recommended the Great Northern Cafe for breakfast. We were glad we gave it a chance. It looks pretty sketchy from the outside! Don't be afraid- go in and enjoy.
Be careful when ordering. Portions are large. The first time we stopped (yes, we had to go back it was so good) we over ordered and everyone needed a nap when we got home because they were too full to move. It was all fresh honest real food and delicious as well.

The pizza is just a C. They put to much zauce on the pizza. Also, the Zheeze needs to be spread out on the pizza. You have to remember that this is part of a small Minnesota chain of pizza zhops.

First off, the food is ok, not great, but edible. Servers were good and friendly. However, one just gets the feeling that this is a place struggling to keep it together. From the "business for sale sign" to the run down surroundings (beyond what you would expect for a 'logging camp') it just didn't feel right. Every sign in the place makes a joke about "not spitting, or not taking food out of the lodge." An attempt at humor, but you again get the feeling that the owners are watching like a hawk to make sure you don't screw them over. There are no chickens to feed, and the logging camp experience is just some old equipment and building falling apart.

My husband and I had lunch here and evetything was good. We started with the wild rice soup. It was excellent. Then we shared an appetizer of walleye bites. Minimal breading and oh so moist. Finally we shared a burger with mushrooms and carmelized onions on multi grain bread. The bread was toasted and the burger was perfect. Service was great as well. Loved the view as well.
