Named for a local swamp fish, Paraty sits on Brazil's southeastern coast, 125 miles south of Rio, with the Bocaino Mountains at its back. The small colonial town's center is a national historic monument with well-preserved buildings on its pedestrian-only streets. Take a boat trip out into the bay to the flotillas of islands and coves nearby. Explore sugarcane plantations and hike or take a train through Atlantica Forest. Keep an eye out for the monkeys that roam the cobblestone streets.

Fantastic moments at VIBE hostel! You are really a part of the family, Gustavo, Ueslei, Chino, mama and Vibey are the best! Everybody were super open minded, helpful and friendly to us. The boat tour was truly amazing, with cliff jumps, football on the beach, a lot of dance and ofc free caparinhas ?? Nothing bad to say about VIBE! We will come back! So sad we have to leave :(((

We are a nice and really well located hostel in Paraty, one of the most historical city of the South America.
Loved my room - good size bed with a lovely little veranda and seating area. Had cable tv and a ceiling fan. Good breakfast and shared space by the river was brilliant. Loved the dog that lives there and I was able to keep my bag there all day until my night bus left town. Paid for a room with private bathroom but ended up with a shared bathroom.

Location and structure are amazing. unfortunately the manager and the crew lack of professionalism. They act like "princesses of the castle" instead of serving the paying customer. : - ((( Improvable!!!

Welcome to newest hostel in Paraty! Our aim is to offer you the best experience in this little paradise city! Leo's Clan is runned by an experienced backpacker who has been through all the good and bad experiences a traveler could have, that's the reason why we are sure this is your best option in town. We built the hostel thinking how what could we do to suit all your needs.
Its taken a long-time to get around to writing this review but I want to say that I am truly thankful to Leo. My cell phone was broken and he assisted me in getting a new one. Furthermore, not only are the staff friendly and helpful, the place is really cool and has a nice pool area and chill out spot. It is well located near the centre of Paraty. Leo is also helpful in giving tips and ideas of what to do in Paraty and the surrounding areas. As a testament to my stay, I initially intended staying for 2 nights but ended spending a week in the hostel and Paraty. I definitely recommend Leo's Clan.

Brilliant location about 5 mins walk away from the Old Town and the river and just off the main drag where you have bars, restaurants and shops. 5-10 minute walk from the bus station. The room was really comfortable, the bathroom had everything I needed and there was a fridge and TV! Love the stable doors and the pool right outside. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and loved the added bonus of monkeys coming to say hello. Staff were really friendly and we managed to communicate with my little Portuguese. Clean and quiet.

In the common patio where breakfast is served there is a very obvious security camera surveilling the area. Unfortunately, as other guests commonly did during my stay, I left my phone unsurveilled for it to charge and stay connected to the internet. When I came back to it 10 minutes later it had disappeared and the owner told me that the cameras had not been turned on that morning, preventing us from identifying who had taken the phone. Other than that, which I will admit I was unnerved about for a few days, I had a very pleasant stay at the hostel.
