Port Moresby (/ˌpɔːrt ˈmɔːrzbi/; Tok Pisin: Pot Mosbi), also referred to as Pom City or simply Moresby, is the capital and largest city of Papua New Guinea and the largest city in the South Pacific outside of Australia and New Zealand. It is located on the shores of the Gulf of Papua, on the south-western coast of the Papuan Peninsula of the island of New Guinea. The city emerged as a trade centre in the second half of the 19th century. During World War II it was a prime objective for conquest by the Imperial Japanese forces during 1942–43 as a staging point and air base to cut off Australia from Southeast Asia and the Americas.

Surprisingly good authentic Malaysian and mainland Chinese food (one Chinese chef has apparently been with them since they opened 10 years ago and the rest are brought over just to work there). It's in a little compound off to the left as you drive from Boroko Foodworld and before the Brian Bell home centre turnoff. Pretty ordinary looking from the outside although red Chinese lanterns out the front are a nice new addition. Inside is clean and well-lit, big round tables with lazy susans in the middle of each for ease of access to a variety of dishes, and a reasonably stocked bar. But the food is what surprised me. Really good. We started off with sweet corn soup, then tried sizzling beef, lamb on toothpick (despite the lack of a plural there is a pile of them when the dish is served - this was my favourite, very tasty) and Thai crispy roasted chicken (strips of chicken, spring onion, carrot and sweet chilli - fantastic). There were a number of seafood dishes (butter prawns and salt and pepper squid were both a big hit) but I steer away from those so can't vouch for them Those who did said it was excellent however and from the large selection of dishes on the menu, obviously a major focus. Another specialty of the house is the sweet and sour fried bean curd - I didn't like the texture personally but everyone else on my table loved it, so don't be put off by me. Not a lot of expats know about the place but definitely worth a visit.

Drove past this restaurant for years and never stopped until now, glad I did.Ordered;Spring Roll K7. Very tasty but only 1Salt n Pepper Prawns K35. THE BEST IVE EVER HADSatay Chicken K35 GoodSteam RiceGood service by PNG standards. Food came out one at a time over a 30 min period with the last dish being the steam rice which I had to chase up.. apart from that it was very good and I'll be back.

You really do need to know right where this is in order to find it, and security concerns mean running the usual POM gauntlet of barriers and security to get inside, but once there, it's an "unreconstructed" (here meaning: not very modern) Chinese restaurant with tasty dishes and regular clientele. It was my first visit, brought by a local expat. Hokkien Noodles were especially good. The atmosphere is a bit gloomy but I can easily see why people might want to be here, relax, and settle in. We couldn't quite do that because it seems the place closes for the afternoon, but we had other things to do anyway.Would I go back? Yes, not alone, but to try to share a variety of Ang's dishes. A shame about the need for such security but that's not Ang's fault at all.

It's a good restaurant and should really be judged by POM standards as they are now. If you compare to large, mass-market Chinese places in Hong Kong, maybe Dynasty falls a little bit short. But if you compare with similar establishments in, let's say, KL or Singapore, Dynasty holds its own.To be fair, I'm reviewing two meals in a private room, so it's mostly about the food. Service was perfect. We had a large variety of dishes. All the seafood was yummy, including large, well-cooked crab, and fish cooked every possible way. A kind of Szechuan-style beef with onions was on the heavy side but I liked the spice. Soups were tasty, the beer was cold, and I (we) had no complaints about any of it. Expensive, of course. The location is convenient and should be secure. Nice to be able to do shopping in the Vision City Mall before or after the meal!

One of the best kept secrets within the Savannah heights, a friendly restaurant and cafe, comprises mainly Chinese, Korean food and over looking the vision city and main waigani area especially the commercial areas. The prices are quite expensive for dining out, Better off going to other restaurants but if you want to enjoy the view, this is the right place. No free Wi-Fi, sorry.

My wife and I visited imperial restaurant for lunch last 17/4 and the food and service was good. We ordered the spicy prawns, crispy egg plants and mixed veges with rice. The portion was good, excellent presentation and taste good too. Well done to the Chef, and the service team Sally and Raymond.
