Welcome to the enchanting hideaway. The Raintree Lodge is the unique hideaway of Boroko, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Twelve private and spacious suites nestled in an enchanting garden... reinforcing the impression of being "at one with nature", yet still providing all the comforts of a boutique retreat. Our friendly staff strive to ensure guest expectations are exceeded by their experiences. We look forward to making you feel at home.
Calling this a "lodge" somewhat gives a wrong impression, as it is in very little grounds, in a suburban environment. There is little to do in the lodge and going outside is not to be encouraged, except on organised trips. That said, it is a pleasant place to stay, albeit rather basic. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the room suited its purpose. One problem was the noise generated by early risers, amplified by the wooden structure of the rooms. The food was fairly bland but well cooked and perfectly edible. There was wine and beer available at reasonable cost. The wi-fi did function but was unpredictable.

Very nice surprising ! Very nice hotel, I don't know why it is placed in 3rd out of 3 B&B in Madang. The other 2 must be very very good then ! Unfortunately we spend only one night here. I wish I could have stayed another night. It looks very cozy lodge. Made from wood, at least it looks wooden style. I think it was double bed room. Very big and bathroom is huge too. AC, complimentary coffee/tea/milk, mini fridge, TV. So confy to stay here. You can chill out at swimming pool.(outdoor) Restaurant is big too. Bar area is fun Next morning, we had to check out really early and hotel prepared packed breakfast.

Rubio Plantation Retreat is a small retreat set on a working cocoa plantation. All bungalows are beach front. There is A good wave straight out front And there are plenty of other activities for the non surfers.
This place is every grom's fantasy. Fun changeable house wave with incredible view near other great surf and non-surf spots, based on a small cocoa and copra plantation that the family are diversifying with other trees. Excellent quality chocolate and coconut oil is for available for purchase too. Shane and his family are very helpful, kind and relaxed hosts who are generous with their experience living and going on surf adventures in PNG for over 30 years. They also make excellent healthy food for every meal. Accommodation is simple, which was perfect and it really helped being able to get return transport to the Kavieng airport. I would love to visit again.

Accommodation is in 6 beachfront traditional timber and thatch bungalows. These can be configured as double or twin rooms. The accommodation is simple, yet fulfilling to all your comfort needs. Each has its own en suite bathroom with essential toiletries, study desk, minibar with tea and coffee facilities, fan and aircon, Ipod dock and private beachfront balcony with deck chairs and table.
Living in PNG through the pandemic gave us the opportunity to visit somewhere we would likely never have gone to. Service and accomodation was 5 star all the way. Food was first class. Diving was spectacular every day. Arriving early in the morning we were greeted by turtles swimming past the back of the boat. Days spent longing in a hammock, diving, snorkeling or kayaking over the Haus reef, cocktails in the evening ahead of a delicious dinner. What more could you want. While we were there the first turtle nests in the hatchery were hatching. It was wonderful to participate in gathering the data on the hatchlings and then helping to release them into the ocean. Liked it so much we’re going back in a couple of weeks.

Clean and tidy budget option, manager was very friendly and helpful as were all the staff. Location was good with a restaurant next door and another close by. Also near to the market which has the best looking fruit and veg.

We turned up not knowing the kitchen and bar were closed to prepare for New Years Eve but Ben Burgess and Sarah ensured we got a Club sandwich for lunch and a couple of ice cold beers! Always nice sitting on the verandah listening to the birdlife enjoying the Ambience. Well done Ben!!!

Genuine farm village bungalow accommodation, in the heart of Milne Bay Province! If you are looking to spend your time in beautiful Alotau, Milne Bay in a more genuine local village and farm environment, you have come to the right place. Situated only 8km out of town, between the town and the airport (along Charles Abel Highway), is Bibiko Farm & Guesthouses. We would like to welcome you to stay at our farm, in the newly built bungalows or private roomed accommodation facilities. You can either eat local food each night with the family, included in the budget accommodation price, or cook your own food. The prices are far lower than any other place in Alotau, starting 60 PGK (approx A$30) per night*, including village food and some activities.
This was an excellent shore excursion from a cruise ship. Very good explanations, wonderful feast and village life. The fruit provided was some of the best I have eaten anywhere. The attitude of all concerned was welcoming and very respectful.
