Had a sopa de tortilla which was really tasty. Just the right amount of spice. Good amount of tortillas cheese and avocado in it. The spicy michelada was very good. I likes the fact that they put some cilantro in it. The tacos were good as well. One dish had tortillas which could have been heated up a bit more but all in all compared to other Mexican restaurants in Panama I give this 5 stars. Service was attentive and we were even allowed to have our dog with us - outside on the terrace, having sacrificed air conditioning for it. Will definitely return

Roxy’s in Boca Chica - What a find!!! We had dinner at Roxy’s this evening and it was EXCELLENT!! The salad was tasty with very fresh ingredients and good size. The pizza was excellent, thin crust and also with the freshest ingredients!! Roxy did not flinch we we said we were vegetarians... just responded with “we have a great vegetable Pizza.” And great it was!! The beer was nice and cold. We ate outdoors in the garden area, nice environment! We will return again! (Looking forward to her homemade pasta).

Casona del Cuzco

Reviewed By odey76

We went with a group of four, including my wife who is Peruvian (so I feel her opinion carries a little more weight). With reviews, we always give the benefit of the doubt as we understand how important these reviews are to the success of a restaurant. But we were very disappointed with the quality, quantity, and service speed of the main dishes. The Cusco-born owner, his daughter, and the waiters were all nice and friendly. But the food was below average, for all in the group. We ordered Lomo Saltado, which is the standard Peruvian dish, and if a restaurant cannot get this right, it won't be able to get the rest of its dishes right. The lomo (beef) was very tough and chewy. The fries that they used were not home-cut but the frozen fries that you buy at the supermarket. And the taste was off. The portion was probably the smallest Lomo Saltado I've ever had in my life (and I've had this dish dozens upon dozens of times). The others in the group had corvina (sea bass), and they commented that it was not as good as that of the Fish House (sorry, not trying to compare, but that's where we ate the day before, and the dish was essentially the same).Lastly, it had taken at least 45 minutes for our main dishes to come out, and there was nobody else in the restaurant who had come in before us and who did not yet have food. We noticed that there was a family of 4-5 outside in the balcony who had arrived after us, and they were served their food before us. The only explanation that we have for them receiving food beforehand was that we had ordered soup and possibly they preferred to serve locals quicker as they could be repeat customers. StOverall, a disappointing experience for the price we paid ($70 for four people), and there are frankly many better options in Boquete. While the restaurant is spacious and the chupe de camerones soup was actually good, this restaurant has a long ways to go in terms of its main course food quality and professionalism/fairness in its service.

MultiCafe

Reviewed By drpetestan

MultiCafe is a cafeteria-style restaurant with 2 locations in downtown David. This review is of the larger of the 2 restaurants, the one located next door to the Castilla Hotel. But much of the review applies to both because they have the same cafeteria-style, fare and prices. The big draw of MultiCafe is that it's a relatively inexpensive place to eat with better than average quality food. It's quite apparent that it's the busiest restaurant in town with the bulk of their customers being locals who recognize the relative value of the place. From having eaten there several times it is also apparent that many locals find it a good place to meet up with friends and business associates. The clientele is also sprinkled with a few seemingly budget-minded tourists. The seating area is large, it is well air-conditioned and the staff is accommodating. As has been mentioned by others, indigenous women and children sometimes can be found seated outside the restaurant begging for money or food and in our experience on one occassion a child looking for a handout finagled her way inside the restaurant when the staff briefly let their guard down. But to be realistic, indigeous women and children begging is a fact of life in much of downtown David that is frequented by tourists. One final point: don't confuse the two MultiCafes in downtown David. There is another one only two blocks away, facing Parque de Cervantes. It is much smaller and is also very busy, especially at meal times, but is frequented almost exclusively by locals. The ambiance of that MultiCafe is far less attractive, however.

We have been here several times. It is more or less cafeteria style. Food is tasty. Servers are very friendly. Prices are great. Only down side it that it is a little hot inside the restaurant and they could use some fans. Other than that we love the place. Want dinner for less than $12 for 2 people, with great food. This is the place to go.

Dad & I like this place for lunch. They have a fixed menu that varies from day to day, Panamian food. Pork, beef, chicken vegetarian, you get a choice. Comes with choice of two salads, choice of several veggies, and tea. All for $4-5.00. Also, have huge bowls of thick soups. Their food is consistently good, and large servings. Tiny place, if you don't come early, you may have to wait, and if you come later, they may run out of a popular item. If you are visiting, or live here, not a place to miss.

If you love healthy locally sourced food cooked and served with passion then visit La Isleta! They also provide accommodation at a great rate. You have the option to camp (bring your own camping equipment) on a grassed area near the river or stay in the bungalow - very peaceful. The bungalow was built by the owners, Roberto and Arturo, using wood from the property. We stayed two nights in the bungalow and ate every meal at the restaurant and it was always delicious. The service is attentive and Arturo has a fantastic voice and will sometimes sing while you dine! Hospitality consists ina little fire, a little food, and an immense quiet. EMERSONWe are most greatful for your kind comments. We really enjoyed having you guys here for those two days. We wish you the very best and a safe trip back home.
