Designed by travelers, for travelers. This is the premier hostel at the heart of bustling El Nido town composed of Instagrammable interiors, rooms for steady relaxation, hip amenities great for mingling, and events on the line-up for the young, adventurous crowd. It currently houses 73 beds in a combination of private rooms and mixed dorms bringing together an assorted bunch of backpackers, weekend warriors and beach enthusiasts out to explore.
This has been one of the best hostels where I have stayed, not just because is Beautiful and Conformable, the people who work here is so nice and genuinely Helpful, Thank you Ritchie for you great attitude every day, Sheena, Claire, Jun and Sir Don, The manager was always taking care of the details, I really really enjoyed my stay here, the breakfast is delicious and fresh, the rooms have enough space and the beds are totally comfortable, the common area big enough, If you go to El Nido Definitely is your best option!

Stayed in the 6 bed hostel room for a period of 3 days. Picturesque little rooms with breathtaking roof top views! Cleanliness: 5/5 Privacy: 5/5 The hostel rooms have attached CRs which is a huge + in comparison to other hostels Location: 5/5 Very convenient location lots of small stores near by, market, beach, party locations etc very close by Safety: 5/5 My stay was made even more comfortable because my room had a solid cupboard-locker in which I could leave my belongings without having to worry about their safety. Amenities: 5/5 The water was running perfectly even during the Odette Typhoon (which hit the city during my stay), Lots of plug points to charge devices, They have a generator, Wifi was fine but couldn't get a strong signal on my bed (which was the farthest from the corridor), Roof top Bar+Pool with an amazing ocean view, Good cafe/restaurant at the ground floor, Lots of social activities including ping pong, jenga, card games, beer pong etc etc to have a good time while making new friends. Honourable mentions: Maam Jonah and Sir Nikko went out of their way to assist me in my needs even ones that were unrelated to lodging (Bike Rental, Tricycle service, IceBreaking, Recommendations etc etc.)

Amakan is a cozy Filipino accommodation found right in the heart of El Nido town. Your home away from home where we provide the little comforts that matter, in the beautiful islands of Palawan. Return from exploring the many beaches and coves of El Nido to our cheerful team, clean air-conditioned rooms with premium mattresses and power showers, and night security to keep you sleeping soundly each night. Tours, local transport and airport transfers can be arranged with our reservations team (additional surcharge applies). Welcome to Amakan. We hope you stay a while.
The room I was given (room 106) doesn't reflect AT ALL the pictures or the description on the booking page. For starters, the ceiling is 1,85m meters high and it feels very claustrophobic. I've never in my life seen something like this, and I've been staying in different accommodations in the Philippines for one month. You'll see it on the pictures how I'm not exaggerating (keep in mind I'm 1,83m tall - 6 foot). Secondly, the room is full of stains, mold and dead bugs smashed against the ceiling (again, the ceiling is very low) that look disgusting. I asked the management to deep clean the room two days in a row, which made no difference because their cleaning standards are very low (or maybe they didn't even tried to clean it). Then I asked the admin employee (Jolly) to follow me to the room so I could show him the cleaning issues that the room had, so they could properly clean it. When I started pointing out the problems, he only repeated over and over "that is our standard room". Later he said that room was 4 years old and needed to be renovated, and there was nothing that could be done now. When he said that, I asked him how they could be renting the room if they knew it was not in good conditions, to which he suggested we should go back to the reception and talk to the manager. Back in the reception, Jolly went to an adjacent room to talk to the manager; I saw the manager was looking at him with a uninterested attitude and she didn't leave her chair or said not them 5 words to him. So Jolly came back to talk to me and said I could move to a triple or quadruple room if I paid the full difference. Basically his answer was give us more money. In the end, I moved to the other available standard room (room 101), which was in a better condition than the original one, but still has a 1,85m meters high ceiling and is literally 3 meters away from the restaurant, which serves breakfast at 6h30 (that means it's noisy early in the morning). By the way, both rooms have windows facing the corridors, so you'll never open the curtains, which makes everything even more claustrophobic. I proceeded to complain to Booking.com about the room condition, and a few hours later I was told by the front desk that the property offered to refund one night of my stay because of my complaint, to which I accepted. The following day, at 11h30 AM, Jolly sent an email via Booking.com saying that to get the refund I should leave the room immediately. In other words, they were not refunding me one night, they wanted to expel me from the hotel with 30 minutes notice. Save yourself some trouble and go to another of the numerous hotels in El Nido.

Newly constructed modern type accommodation that is 2 minutes walk away from the stunning beach. We offer the following; a. Quality, Clean & Comfortable Facility b. Free Internet Access c. Solar Hot & Cold Shower d. Private Toilet & Bath e. Safe & Secure Area f. Complementary / Freebies g. Service Plus h. Reasonable Price Make your stay worthwhile and comfortable with one of the best accommodation in Port Barton at a reasonable price. See You :)
Hashtag Tourist Inn is located in the center of PB, few minutes away from the busiest main center area. Hosts are welcoming and friendly. Rooms are clean, fan geared, but small. Do not expect to walk around your bed. Mattress is all right, on the thin range, neither comfortable, nor the opposite. Bathroom is convenient with hot shower which is useless to my opinion. It would be a better idea to provide guest with a couple of drinking water bottle daily as it is the usage all over Philipines. Breakfast is not included but may be ordered and served on each room individual terrace. WiFi is there network is not reliable. The lodge is overall quiet but may get slightly noisy by 7am when Port Barton wakes up due to bikes and car as it is set on a junction. Not a big deal though. Earplugs will do the trick. Compared to accomodations in the same price range I stayed in all over Philipines, I think Hashtag Tourist Inn is a good option considering you are 200m away from the beachfront. Just keep in mind that Port Barton is not a budget place for backpackers travelling on a shoestring. More tourists than travellers here.

Accommodation with electricity whole night, private bathroom with hot and cold shower, common kitchen.
Had barely any contact with the hosts here so can't judge them.. I'm not sure where the communal kitchen is as nobody showed us, room was not cleaned once in 6 days, though they found the time to switch off our AC so it was hot on our return. I know AC is expensive to run, but I'm paying for it I should be able to use it. Location is OK, handy enough for the beach etc. Rooms are clean (though I had to search for extra toilet roll) shower was OK too. Overall, it's nothing fancy, but it offers a bed for the night. We had decent WiFi (by Filipino standards) though I suspect this varies on where your room is located. There are probably better places in the area, but for AC with private bathroom it's not bad.

A new hostel, with comfortable rooms and very clean bathrooms and shower rooms. We usually book our own bathroom but the communal areas (bathroom and shower rooms) are cleaned as soon as someone uses them so you don’t really notice you’re sharing. I would have a shower and then my boyfriend would go in after me and the shower room would have already been cleaned in between! Breakfast was included and was a good size and kept you full until lunch time - many other included hostel breakfasts are much smaller and we would have to have another snack after breakfast! The owner and staff are lovely and can’t do enough for you. The puppies Fil and Can are very very cute too! They’re currently in the process of building a communal area outside and a sports bar on the roof. Unfortunately it wasn’t completed for our visit but would love to visit again to see it finished. The only thing I would suggest is to have a mirror inside the rooms. Thank you very much for having and looking after us.
