Great place

We stayed here during the Blue Crab Festival. It was within walking distance to the Festival. The house and victorian furniture are very nice. The owner gave us a full house/history tour including a secret tunnel in the basement and the tower room. Rooms on the first and second floor are best. Stairs to the third floor are a bit steep and rooms are not as nice. We had a family reunion and filled the house. As such, we did our own breakfasts. It was also convenient to St Augustine.

Great night’s sleep! Great view! Comfy!

Reviewed By Zumbagirlnyc

We stayed over on a Saturday night & were exhausted after a long drive. We saw a bunch of wedding revealers in the halls getting ready for an after party & we’re really worried we’d be up all night from noise. Not at all! We’re light sleepers & had one of the best night’s rest there. Breakfast was fine (coffee not great). The room was clean & the hotel right across the street from the river. Our window faced the river & was quite a pretty view. The only unnerving thing was what looked like a bullet hole in a hall window, which is why I dinged it one star. No ether, we felt completely safe & would def stay there again!

Reservation was no honored on two occasions

Reviewed By sml224

On two separate trips my confirmed reservation was not honored upon my arrival at the hotel. I was told no rooms were available. Apparently, according to the desk clerk, this is a regular occurrence. The hotel manager, Henry Yu, (386) 597-9561, instructs the staff to sell reserved rooms to walk-ins rather than hold them and risk no-shows. Do not go here if you expect your room to be held for you. I arrived before dark on both occasions.

A fantastic experience!

We stayed here for one night on our way to Florida, because it was pet friendly. They have an area for your pet to go do its business, and provide the waste bags as well. I’llIt’s also located on St. John’s River which is a bonus and a wonderful experience. It’s been updated, has no carpet, An on-site restaurant which is fantastic, breakfast as expected the next morning, and service was friendly. It’s extremely comfortable and linens were clean and newish. The sheets were extremely soft, felt like bamboo sheets. We will definitely stay here again and we recommend if you need a decent place with a decent price, you will not regret this location.

Good but....

All around it was good. Its a 3star motel. Not really a resort persay. Its better to stay in the rooms that are attached to the lobby area with the couches and pool tables. The rooms are 40 more a night but its worth it. No breakfast obviously. No real coffee pots availble. Premade garbadge coffee packets that you cant make your own coffee with. The area the motel is in is run down abandoned industrial parks. There is a nuclear power plant right there across the water thats way visible from the pool area. They don't show you in the pictures obviously. There s nothing around the motel but a good resteraunt called corkys grill. Awesome sea food and gf steak. The staff was friendly and they will provide extra towels and supplies if need be. Its a very old area . st Augustine is 55 min from there. Salt springs is 1omin from the motel. Blue springs is 55 min or so. You can tell the motel(resort) used to be happening back in the day. Now it seems run down all around outside the motel. Alot of abandoned buildings and stores everywhere you go We slept good there. And our window was looking at the lake. All in all it was a nice stay. The landscapers at 730 am was noisey but not to bad. It would be more respectful to the guests to have the landscaping worked on after 9 am. Reasonable time. When i go back to visit the Springs. (ginnie spring s. Rainbow....three sisters....silver springs ...ect) i will stay closer gainsville. You have to get to the Springs in the mornings before maximum capcity is reached. Otherwise everywhere you go will be blocked off. If i was gonna go to st Augustine i would stay closer to there.
