Pakse, or Pakxe (French: Paksé; Laotian: ປາກເຊ [pȁːk séː] "mouth of the river"; Thai: ปากเซ), is the capital and most populous city of the southern Laotian province of Champasak, making it the second most populous city in Laos. Located at the confluence of the Xe Don and Mekong Rivers, it has a population of about 88,000. It also served as the capital of the Kingdom of Champasak until it was unified with the rest of Laos in 1946.

The restaurant is exceedingly close to where the tuk tuk from the northern bus station drops you.
Good range of foods at good prices.
A nice condiment rack appears out of the fridge for added taste.
Inside may be better for non smokers should the French be dining next to you.

Le Panorama is the roof-top restaurant of the Pakse Hotel & Restaurant. Located on the 7th floor, it offers a unique view of the city, the Mekong river and the Mountains. We open at 04:30 hours daily (Happy Hour 17:00 - 18:00) and are THE place to enjoy a cocktail, a fresh fruit juice or a chilled Beer Lao when watching the sunset over the Mountains. Once the sun has set, the stars will twinkle in your eyes! No mosquitoes, a light refreshing breeze most every night, a caring and attentive staff communicating in English (and quite often in French...) will make it an easy and pleasant experience. Our menu emphasises local cuisine, traditional Western specialities, fusion cooking and delicious pizzas! To go with it all, choose your bottle from our careful selection of wines.
This rooftop bar was a pleasant surprise. If your only experience of Pakse is of its noisy main street, then this place will change your impression. The view from up here is amazing: the Mekong River goes past in an elegant bend with the view of dramatic Mountains in the background. It really is a magnificent sight and one which is justifiably popular at Happy Hour.
So how about the drinks? They had a fair bit of kick, which is my main requirement. Mind you, they were nothing too fancy, but they did the job. And they're really just an accompaniment to that view.

This was the designated Lunch spot on our tour. After lots of food so far, some sandwiches/rolls and cool drinks were a nice chnge. Tasy food, Good service, cheap prices...and in centre of town. Downside; did get the odd waft of drain at our seat in front corner.

During our three days in Pakse we ate here four times: the town is not overendowed with good and convenient eating places (though the Pakse hotel is good). We were never disappointed. The staff are friendly and polyglot: the food references Laos, Thailand and Vietnam; prices are more than reasonable. Service can be a little chaotic. The restaurant also runs a cooking school and sells bus tickets. Madame speaks fluent French and lives part of the time in France.

We tried the others Indian restaurants in Pakse, but this one is the cheaper and the best !
They have a lot of vegetarian dishes for only 9000 kips !
Try the chicken tikka masala, and the biryani, it's really delicious !
Also, this is one of the only restaurant in Pakse that is still open after 9 pm !!

I came here with high hopes after Reading the reviews but was very let down. The drinks were a very reasonable price, and the coffee machines looked great.
I ordered my standard long black and I the half full cup of coffee I received was very watery and next to no Crema. The ambience of the place wasn't too nice, all the furniture was old. The staff were semi-friendly.
I didn't eat so cannot comment on the food but the menu was quite extensive.
If you like coffee you're much better off seeking another cafe like Delta.

Good coffee and variety of food and good service and fairly fast wifi and Seating outside make this place popular. One pays a little more than other places for this

Really nice Italian restaurant in Pakse. The garden out back is a wonderful place to hang out and service was amazing. The carbonara was very good and authentic, with rich flavours and sauce not too thick. My girlfriend's pizza was a bit average but perfectly enjoyable none the less. They obviously have a very good thing going here, a few improvements on the pizza and the place would be a five for sure.

Sinouk is a Laotian coffee chain, you see them everywhere in Lao.
The coffee’s not to my liking at all; I find it extremely rough. A latte is served in small cups for about 22,000 but when you taste it you’ll be glad it’s small.
Lots of good coffee to be found in Lao but not at Sinouk.

The best place for Indian food in Pakse - period - and far better than the Jasmine Restaurant on the Main Street two blocks away. Is it worth four stars in absolute terms? Probably not - but given that I gave the Jasmine three stars in the context of Indian food in Pakse, then Hasan absolutely has to be given its due!
