George's Restaurant is a family-owned and operated business since 1999. We pride ourselves for having something for everyone and every budget.
Not for a date in my opinion. Place is like an all rounder kinda joint. Serves a little of everything but does it with atrocious indoor theming. Algae water tank included! Food was fine. Waiters wear t-shirts if that gives you an idea on dress code. Food was fine for a local joint. I dunno...maybe Raleigh has made me a snob or something.

While traveling recently along I-85, I stopped at the Harvest Restaurant in Oxford, North Carolina. Oxford is less than 15 minutes off the main highway and an excellent alternative to the typical highway chains. There were many delicious homemade lunch options available and I chose chicken salad on greens. It was very fresh, tasty, and filling. The restaurant - housed in a large old house - is open for lunch hours and offers a variety of hot and cold lunch items. Service is friendly. The restaurant is well appointed, clean and crisp. On a hot Friday, several diners were enjoying lunch outside on the porch. I appreciated the soft classical music in the background after a morning of driving. Harvest is on my list of restaurant stops when I travel along I-85. Diners order at the counter and orders are delivered to your table. Highly recommended!

Got last-minute reservations thanks to the wonderful owners of ribeyes. As always the food, service, and setting were excellent. Very busy for a Tuesday night, but we were tended to just as we always are with attention and frequency. Always a good choice when in Oxford.

While not a traditional Italian restaurant the food is quite delicious and portions are hearty. Service is always excellent, the staff is attentive to every need and friendly. Calzone, chicken Olympia, and pizza are all good choices. And it's all a good value. Again for authentic Italian there are better places but you to have to travel to Raleigh or Durham. These folks are by far the best here in Oxford.

You can get pretty much anything except the kitchen sink on a biscuit in this counter-service restaurant in an old filling station. Don't expect much decor; what's here is plastic and worn. The biscuits are made on-site (I saw the cook come from the kitchen to the dining area in a flour-covered apron). The restrooms, the originals from the filling station days, are located on the outside of the building and could use a little cleaning.

Uptown 101 is a brand new restaurant located in historic downtown Oxford. The building has been fully renovated, and the restaurant has a great decor. For lunch, there are soups, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers on the menu. For dinner, entrees consist of Rib Eye steaks, grilled Salmon, Shrimp & Grits, Alfredo, and Portehouse Pork Chops. And, at the bar, customers can enjoy a beer, a glass of wine, or a cocktail.
I had the scrimp & grits w/o creole sauce and was delicious and plentiful and Long Island Ice Tea was a good addition Will return, Pam

Cookout is one of my favorite places to go when I'm back in North Carolina. Their milkshakes are great, and their barbecue sandwich, topped with Texas Pete hot sauce, is fantastic. The service at the Oxford location was quick and polite.

Always tasty food with pretty expeditious service by friendly staff. Nothing too bold or too-authentic (like tripe) but serviceable and fun. Huge servings of chips and salsa for everybody. Beef and chicken dishes most reliable. We're too far from the ocean for me (timid) to try fish or shellfish.

Exactly what you expect from bojangles! Biscuit was excellent. Tried the wrap for he first time and the tomatoes were not good.

Met a friend for lunch here today...we each ordered subs...on the printed menu it stated dressings as EVOO..and red wine vinegar...I ordered a hot roast beef sub with mushrooms...Lettuce and Tomato..swiss cheese with red wine vinegar and oil...sub came no mushrooms or vinegar and oil...I asked for vinegar and oil...because there was none on the sandwich... when I asked the server who brought the sandwich he assured me it was on there...it was not... I asked the waitress and she just brought me the olive oil from the salad bar....as there was already a bottle of balsamic on the table per my friends request. I stated I wanted the red wine vinegar please...she came back and told me they didn't use that just the balsamic...so if they do not use it on their subs why is it printed out on the menu??? At that point I just gave up and didn't even mention the mushrooms...just ate my sub..
My sub was okay...smallish...fries were good...checks were brought and she stood and waited for us to dig for money...cc's...I had the distinct feeling we were being rushed....she brought cards and check back for signatures and had mixed up order and charged meals to wrong cards...and then gave us the wrong cards back...We just accepted it because I frankly did not want to give her my card again to take away and bring back...so we each paid for each others meal! The restaurant was not full...not sure why we were rushed out...it's too bad Oxford needs all the restaurants it can get.... because of the service I will not return.
