Five of my friends and myself went here for a getaway and we had a wonderful time. The winery tour and wine and cheese samples were exceptional! I believe we all left with bottles of wine we purchased. In my opinion, for me the massage given by Madeline was my favorite part. The prime rib dinner was awesome as well!

Cafe / Coffeeshop located in rejuvenated lodge building built in 1903. The comfortable eclectic dining areas have been preserved and decorated to show the character and heritage of the historic buildings and community but provide a coffee shop feel. We provide a casual environment to share a meal, specialty coffee drink, or a glass of wine or beer. (free wifi)
We were riding our motorcycles on a cold day. We stopped at a gas station across the street from Bird Dogs for a pit stop, but they had no public restrooms. Saw Bird Dogs and we might as well warm up with some hot beverages...MoreThanks for the kind words Larry! Glad you enjoyed your visit.

Great Mexican restaurant in the quaint small town of Owenton. Loved the chips and salsa. The salsa is spicy which adds a little kick. The chips are multicolored which adds a nice flair. Generous portions of any entrée with very reasonable prices. I would definitely return.

We stopped in for dinner and were pleasantly surprised at both the food, atmosphere and service. The pulled pork sandwich was the best ever and did not require any sauce. Our server "Sherry" came over to take our order and sat down to talk to use while taking our order. We loved that! She was very friendly and admitted it was her first day. She brought us over a book to look at that featured restaurants and diners in towns in Kentucky and The Smith House had a couple pages of their own in that book. We liked it so much we bought one. We met Billy, (William if signs your book) the owner. He was very pleasant and talked for a while with us when we checked out. We will definitely be back even if we are not staying in Owenton. It was the best food, service and friendliest people around!! Loved it! 5 stars!!

So much more than a pool hall. Great American comfort food. Great burgers and all the traditional sides. Wonderful service. Locals abound. I wish this was a smoke free restaurant, the only negative. Not to be missed.

Delicious food and service in your hometown for over 30 years! Featuring specialty pizza, homestyle pasta, salads and sandwiches. Casual, family-friendly dining.
This place seemed to be the only place opened when we visited on a Thursday afternoon. The Waitress Ashley was nice and friendly but sitting downstaisr seemed to be the only person taking orders over the phone, seating people, and serving. I felt terrible for her to see her only do the work. Pizza was good not amazing, salad was average, and drinks were refilled right away. would come back. Ashley is a keeper.

I needed a carry out order for a business lunch for 20 to 30 people. The management made this simple and easy to order. They handled everything by telephone quickly and efficiently. We had plenty of food left over. Everything was fresh and delicious. The manager personally called the morning when we were on the way to pick up the order, just to be sure we were on the way!
We ordered:
3 trays of mixed sandwiches
1 tray of mixed cookies (24 cookies)
1 tray of sides (lettuce, onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc.)
Plates and napkins (no cost)
I will definitely use the Subway in Owenton, KY again for our future needs.

We ordered two pizza's and a calzone - Calzone was way under cooked (onions were still raw). We got the pizza with potato on it. It was the only thing that really got eaten. We were staying at elk creek lodge and this was the only place that delivered there.

We went thru the drive thru in Owenton Kentucky, the service was fast, but they were the smallest ice cream cones we have ever received at any Mc Donalds location.
Usually they are a little more generous these were literally half sized. As a town on the main interstates maybe this is what they are used to doing as they know you are not a repeat customer.
