Boutique restaurant in Betty's Bay. Open mostly for dinners and Sunday lunches. Times change according to season.
We are part time residents of Pringle Bay and always a treat to eat at this little gem. Deceivingly simple in appearance , but once you step inside, the warmth, wonderful hospitality and lovely unfussy decor, envelope you!The menu is small, but perfect and the food always delicious. Try the seafood platter or the lamb chops, wow! Perhaps the wine selection could be improved slightly, but that is just fussy me :) Thank you for yet another lovely dinner.Shaun and Gordon

The food prepared by Chef Leo was just delicious and magnificently presented as well. I ordered crayfish for an appetizer and gemsbok for the main course. One of my friends ordered liver pate and ox cheeks. We switched half way through so we were able to try all 4 dishes - they were all really, really good - lots of wonderful favors â and the meats were as tender as could be. For desert, our table of 5 ordered all three of the deserts and shared -the crème brûlée was particularly amazing - flavored with cardamom. As an extra treat, all the desserts had chocolate porcupine quills sticking out of them.
Itâs a nice local spot, very very nice staff and wasnât sure what to think initiallyBut after getting two great pizzas, salad and nice beer- very impressed! Very low key, good music and clean restaurant and Nice easy walk down to waterfront. Thanks and would return

Service bad, indifferent. Had to get up from our table a multitude of times to get service or ask for cutlery etc. Waitress took forever to take our order let alone acknowledge our presence. We waited forever for our meal. My steak (bad mistake) was cold and very tough and badly butchered. I asked for garlic butter sauce and got some revolting gloop which was inedible. When I asked what it was I was told it was garlic in cheese sauce (NOT). To add insult to injury they had used garlic flakes, yuck. How difficult is it to crush some garlic into melted butter?? My friendsâ meals equally underwhelming, overdone prawns. The owners are banking on the restaurants position, which has a lovely view. This phenomenon seems ubiquitous in South Africa. Definitely wonât be back, not even for a drink.

An excellent selection of fresh fish and seafood dishes. With our beautiful year round peaceful setting, and perfect location by the sea, it is no surprise that you will find seafood, fresh from the ocean made with quality care. KabelJoe's offers discerni
Cosy atmosphere and nice views of the sea. Our waitress was really friendly, did her job very well and paid attention to detail. We waited quite long for the food (even though they were not busy so the kitchen must have had very few orders) and the various items on the seafood platter were not all the same temperature. The chips (fries) and some items were lukewarm while the fish was piping hot. All in all the visit was okay, but the food is nothing to rave about.
