Very laid-back place to sit down and have a drink.Old school furniture. Nice terrace to watch people go by and look at the town square fountain, old trees and historical building 'De Waag'. Families and people of all ages will visit it, if they are the relaxing kind. A lot of special beers, fresh or bottle. Each day a 'daghap', dinner of the day, for a small price. Freshly cooked with nearby products of good quality.

The food was good but the portions are a bit on the small size even for tapas. Cocktails were good and not expensive and the service was fine. I did enjoy it though and everything was cooked well. Worth a visit

It's on a cool spot. Their homemade sandwiches with chicken-curry salad or tuna salad are overdone with bread, or too little salad, depends how you look at it. As their kitchen is tiny, expect to wait half an hour for just a sandwich if the terrace is full. Bathrooms are equally tiny, with waiting lines, in the basement. Good beer choice. Team Vrienden van Vroeger Hi Rob and Jolanda,Very nice that you visit our cosy place at the Grote Kerkhof at one of the three bissyest days of the year. Our company is the smallest in town, not only the bar but also our kitchen. We always try to serve high quality!Unfortunately you had to wait longer than normal. It's only at this first Sunday of August that it may keep longer because thousands of people visit Deventer. We hope to see you again, so you can enjoy our nice beers and homemade sandwiches Team Vrienden van Vroeger

Pity that the experience was not good this time. 2 years ago we celebrated Valentines Day here and we liked the cozyness, the personal attention and the special menu for the occasion. In the mean-time, the restaurant has been enlarged and the addition in which we sat, does not have the same feel.We missed the special menu. Most of all, we missed the personal touch. We have never had so many different people helping us as that evening (9). It felt as if we were part of an industrial process that evening.Pity, because the food was good.

Kreta is a family owned Restaurant for over 22 years. Chef Vasilis and Host Leonidas are a father and son duo that offer a fresh authentic representation of the Greek Cuisine. We also have an extensive Greek wine and Craft beer list, Gin&tonics, cocktails
We liked the new style of getting to know the Greek cuisine better. The tapas idea is great. Personal attention and explanation of the various plates was hartwarming.

After an organised walk around the old streets of Deventer we opted to have dinner at one of the restaurants we had seen on the walk. The restaurant is located in an ancient city farm building which explains the higgledy-piggledy layout. The owner enjoys his role of host and explains the menu options with gusto. The food has Portuguese connections and was well prepared and presented.
