Holten (Dutch Low Saxon: Hooltn) is a small village in the municipality of Rijssen-Holten in the Dutch province of Overijssel, with approximately 10,000 inhabitants. Holten is located in a forested area just south of the Holterberg, a 65-metre (210 ft) hill, and is part of the "Sallandse Heuvelrug" National Park. The National Park is the only area in the Netherlands in which the black grouse (in Dutch: korhoen) can be found. This grouse population is on the brink of extinction, so parts of the National Park are closed to the public during its breeding season.

De Sallandse Berg is large (500 peoples). They're divided into different rooms. The kitchen is fine. International: Dutch, European, Chinese, Thai. They work in buffet form. Some dishes take you. Meat and fish are freshly baked. Choose what you want and a good cook prepares it. The prices are low because drinks included. Price / quality is more than good. Restaurant is atop "Nijverdal Mountain". Nice view. Almost in the middle of the forest. Also for coffee with pastries and lunches. Also suitable for big parties, weddings etc.

Restaurant Oriental, in het centrum van Rijssen gelegen, serveert goed bereide, smakelijke Chinese en Indische gerechten. De tomatensoep vooraf was rijk gevuld, de Bami rames erna was heerlijk. De bediening was snel, het personeel vriendelijk, de prijzen alleszins acceptabel. Het interieur doet aan 1990 denken, maar dat stoort verder niet. Het is er wel zeer ruim en geschikt voor grote groepen.

We got takeaway Chinese from Dynasty, reasonably priced monthly set menu. Large quantities, well prepared, and reasonably priced for what you get. Only issue was the long wait of an hour, because they are so busy.
