The Out Islands are synonymous with sport, from the depths of the Gulf Stream that yield big game fish to the coral reefs just off shore that are catnip to scuba divers. Sailing, kayaking and beach-combing add action to lazy days in the sun, while resident pink flamingos and rare Bahama parrots color local hikes.

La Bougainvillea is a luxurious 5 star boutique hotel on 30 acres of the most beautiful beach in the world. Sit by our infinity edge pool while overlooking the crystal blue waters of the Bahamas. We are a unique place located on a rarely found secluded beach.
My favorite part of the stay was the food. This is unusual because the Bahamas is not known for food. Devin, the chef at La Bouganvillea, is a humble soft spoken man who cooks up wonders in his seaside kitchen. The lobster tacos were amazing. Oh, and don't miss trying the best burger in the Bahamas. The environment Tom created is an eclectic mix of Bahamian and Asian designs. This tasteful combination made me feel relaxed and embraced. I enjoyed immensely sitting out back listening to the ocean, feeling the gentle breeze all while being taken care of by a great staff.

With twenty bungalows and a twenty villas steps from the most beautiful beach in the Bahamas, an escape to Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort is an experience you will never forget.
This resort is just a paradise and a dream come true. We are so thrilled to discover this remote island with this beautiful beach. I love how accessible the beach were from our rooms. The food on the resort was just absolutely amazing. I'm so happy we came here on our honeymoon and I wouldn't change a thing. I only wished I didn't have to go back to work just to stay in this paradise island a little longer.

We traveled here in mid-May with my two children (girls, age 5 and 6) and had an amazing experience. Our villa (1314) was ocean front and beautiful - beds comfy, full kitchen, everything you'd want. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and Emerson of the Minnow Hut went above and beyond to play with our girls in the pool. The front desk was always responsive with recommendations, car rentals, everything you'd expect. The dragonfruit mojito is worth an order at the bar. We dined at both restaurants and snacked at the jerk shack. Everything was great - we also liked Coco Plum Bistro right down the road. If you have time, visit Coco Plum beach at low tide - ridiculously beautiful. What an amazing trip! All the beach toys you can imagine -we swam with dolphins at the beach Sunday morning. Water was gorgeous ... island is very low key, slow pace and relaxing.

We have been catering to scuba divers, snorkelers, fishermen, eco-tourists, and relaxers since 1960. Third largest barrier reef in the world and bonefish heaven. There are 21 all-inclusive rooms in cottages right on the beach. Come experience our unique ambience, friendly staff, and natural safe environment. Our dock and dive shop are right on property and fishing trips are easily arranged. Of course, if grabbing a drink, a book, and a hammock are more your style, go right ahead. We have 2 beaches and plenty of hammocks. Rest, Relaxation, and Rediscovery ...
Somehow the staff, food, other guests, location, and rooms all manage to be amazing at the same time here. In 1 week, met and spent time with around 20 great people (all now new friends), learned to dive, saw a lot of new (to us) birds, chilled out, gained a pound or 3, and had some great adventures. The staff is really caring and kind, and went to great lengths to make us feel like part of the family. This was our first visit, but there is a 1000% chance that we'll be back.

This year I spent my 54th birthday at the beautiful and tranquil Rollez Resort in Old Bight Cat Island. Bahamas. This peaceful secret over looks a quiet cove. The owners and staff were amazing as they were always attentive to any request we might have had. The rooms were spacious and just seconds away from the white sandy, calm beach which could be seen through the lovely native plants and flowers from the front porch of our one bedroom villa. Our meals, including a last minute requested special birthday cake, were delicious. If you are looking for a relaxing time away from the busy city life, this hidden jewel in the Bahamas is a most visit.

Great resort. We came in on our sailboat and took a slip on their dock. Great restaurant, pool and staff. Dock manager was great, Geneva in the restaurant took great care of us. Located next to a beautiful little town. Had a wonderful time and will stop in again when in the area.

Awesome resort. We stayed here for the last leg of our trip and we didn’t have a room with a view because we used a booking site and got a great rate! The lack of view was the only thing that was missing, other than that it was outstanding.

The hotel was a great experience as was the beach and the resort. It was a little crowded with college students but we managed just fine. We will return as it’s only a boat trip away from Fort Lauderdale.

I stayed in the Island Time villas across the street in a studio villa. My initial impressions were not great as I felt like the check in process was rushed and could’ve been handled differently. However, I will say that the front desk was wonderful throughout my stay with whatever questions I had or anything I needed. Beach towels are available but you had to sign them out and exchange for new ones as needed around the pool area. There is no housekeeping due to covid so I had to ask for more toilet paper once and the small trash cans more than filled up in my room. The accommodations were basic but very reasonably priced and had everything I needed. My room had a small kitchen with plates, cups, utensils, a fridge and microwave. My only complaint is that the fridge would freeze everything- including my bottled water. The bathroom is a bit tight and I could see that being an issue for couples but for myself it was manageable. I really enjoyed the guest lounge and it came in handy on my departure day as my flight wasn’t until 5:45pm. There is a pool table, ping pong table, books, and a few board games. You also have access to restrooms and changing rooms. There is parking across the street which was convenient and never full. The hotel is in a great location on the island and not too far from town. The restaurant on-site was good and convenient. The beach in front is small and there aren’t a lot of umbrellas available but there never were many people there so I never had issues finding a spot. The pool seemed to get busy in the afternoons. They also offer return covid testing which was easy to sign up at the front desk and was included with the cost of your health visa so no charge to you. I think overall this was a great value for the money and I’d consider staying here again.
