Perfect hotel for Ourense
Reviewed By Phil MThis is our second time in Ourense but first time using Barcelo Ourense. We would have no hesitation in using again or recommending to friends or family. The rooms were great, location ideal. One day I will get used to directions on leaving the city car parks

Excellent hotel service

Hotel was full but got the last room - although it meant I would have to check out and check back in Those of you who travel know what that can be like. However, when I went to check out, they were waiting for me and already had my room ready. No problems. Very clean and quiet hotel. Not a lot of restaurants nearby and the hotel does not have a restaurant open for lunch or dinner. Many more restaurants nearer the cathedral.

New boutique hotel in a historic building inthe centre of Ourense. The Carrís CardenalQuevedo is strategically located in one of themost central and busiest streets in the city,only a few metres from the old quarter, SanLázaro Park, the train station and the riverMiño.
Clean but slightly less than good
Reviewed By Des_GruntledStayed for several nights recently and found the room to be comfortable, clean and reasonably quiet. My room was on the second floor at the front of the hotel. There was little in the way of disturbance from people outside at night but there was some from street cleaning about 2AM on a few nights. The room was a stereotypical Spanish hotel with dated brown furniture. Plenty of cupboard space but to use the top shelves you would have to be over 7 feet tall. The bed was comfortable enough but they do only provide the bolster type pillows which for me are too soft. The bathroom was bright enough but the bath was a little odd as it didn't have any taps only a powerful shower. Basic toiletries were provided. The bar is closed and there is no restaurant - not what you want when you've just spent 15 hours travelling. There are plenty of bars and cafes nearby though. So rather than operating as a hotel it's a glorified BnB. Which leads me on to breakfast. The basic breakfast is simply a couple of rolls with ham and cheese filling along with a croissant and a pain au chocolat. This is all pre wrapped in clingfilm. There is fresh fruit provided and they are happy to add to that with chopped banana and kiwi fruits. There was an option for tostadas but I didn't get offered this. Would be much improved by offering a breakfast buffet. Wifi worked well in my room and was good enough for work and watching some TV. The TV itself has limited channels and none that I noticed were in English. The biggest bugbear at this hotel is parking. As is common in Spain this hotel has an underground car park. It's on 3 levels. The first level is easy but only has a couple of spaces for the hotel. The second level is OK but the third level is really tight to get into and I put two nasty scrapes on my car trying to get down to this level. DONT TAKE A BIG CAR TO THIS HOTEL. Overall it's all right but don't say you weren't warned.

Reviewed By met901Hotel muy limpio, se nota que es nuevo. Está muy cerca del centro de ourense, se puede ir andando a todos sitios. Las habitaciones y el baño muy amplias. En las habitaciones tienes caja fuerte, tv y tetera con infusiones. La única pega es que nuestra habitación daba al exterior y como fuimos en carnaval (entroido) se escuchaba algo de ruido de las personas que estaban de fiesta y pasaban por la calle, pero no me molesto excesivamente. El hotel también tiene un spa muy económico y muy limpio. Cerca del hotel (a menos de 1 minuto) tienes dos restaurantes, uno vegetariano y otro con platos de todo tipo, y una bocadillería con bocadillos muy ricos y a buen precio. Es muy recomendable

Great hotel and great price value

The staff was very warm and welcoming, and they accommodated all of our needs, since we wanted a bedroom for 3 people. The room was nice and clean, and the location makes it perfect for a quiet and relaxing trip.

The rooms and bathrooms are very clean, everything is modern, simple, efficient and comfortable. The staff of the hotel is friendly and helpful. Also, their prices are more than reasonable, considering the great quality of their services. I certainly would recommend this hotel chain, there is no reason to hesitate when making a booking at Alda.

Reviewed By HongKongStarsJust take the room without breakfast as you are in downtown with many dinning options in the city. They have a parking in the basement (at charge). Rooms are just ok, but it is ok for the price you pay. Staff speaks English.

Reviewed By thomasbinmadridI wish we would have known that the hotel is located in the pedestrian section of the city center. The GPS leaves you on a road, where you can't stop or park, to walk the rest of the way. We ended up circling around to get the car into the parking garage (12€/day), and pushing our suitcases around the sidewalks and uphill. Even though I had called prior to our arrival to inquire about the parking facilities, the hotel receptionist clearly didn't think was pertinent to offer this tidbit of helpful information. The room itself was satisfactory. Although there were a few stray hairs, the towels were fluffy and smelled nice; the bathroom was spacious. There's a green emergency light above the door that is on at all time (during the night). Basic accommodation, but near the historic sights to see and places for tapas and dinner. Breakfast was coffee and toast or coffee cake.

Reviewed By hokonaThis hotel said our credit card had been declined then charged us for many more nights that we stayed (1/30). Otherwise it was fine and convenient, nothing special. I couldn't recommend it considering the above.
