The location is great, just by the sea. Especially the terrace is nice. Service is usually ok, sometimes great, sometimes just ok. The pizzas are actually not that good... but still the best in town (as there are no other pizza restaurants). The owner, Arto Koivisto, won a Olympic Gold medal in cross country skiing in Insbruck 1976! Definitely worth a visit!

As one enters Kristiinankaupunki across the road bridge one cannot fail to spot the Jungman cafe, restaurant to the left hand side. The setting is perfect with fine views across the sea through the large floor to ceiling windows and when the weather permits there is a long terrace where one can enjoy fresh air, sunshine and refreshment. The interior is furnished in fine Scandinavian fashion and the staff could not have been more helpful and discreet. The menu, although not extensive, has everything to satisfy most diners and our order was taken calmly and efficiently and the food was delivered, well presented in a very brief space of time. Kristiinankaupunki is a short diversion off the main north-south highway along Finland's west coast but a location for tourists to take a well-deserved quiet and peaceful break.

We decided to have lunch here, after reading earlier positive reviews. After our little disappointing visit, I noticed that they are from 2015-17, so maybe something has changed after that? Quite stylish interior and also terrace, but unfortunately no "hellos, welcomes or enjoy your lunch" from waitress....maybe because we talk Finnish and they like to speak Swedish? It was a real hot day and their buffet wasn't looking that appealing, bee flying around, salmon was "mushy" with more skin than fish itself left etc. Price wasn't too bad, but unfortunately we left there unsatisfied and no good byes, despite my wife said that loud to waitress.

The most lovely location in Kristinestad, very nicely decorated terrace, friendly service. You can arrive by car or by boat. Although it would be important to know where to leave the boat when visiting. The quality of the food varies too much and often reminds of a school cafe. Please make more fresh, interesting portions made of fish, salads and vegetables. Forget the thick sauces. For example a portion of white fish and crepes with mushroom mousse would have been most lovely - without a thick, yellow sauce that made it like a plate of porridge. Please also update your Fb and www pages regularly about what is going on. How about a sunday brunch next summer? You could easily be THE restaurant of the town with a little freshening up.
