Went there for a 2 day work conference. Great location and accomodation. Food is very good and the surrondings are also great

Wow. I haven't eaten this well in a long time. Restaurant Munkklostret really impressed me with its impeccable food. I ordered starter, main course and desert, and they all were equally fantastic. I don't have anything to complain regarding the food, it was truly top notch. Thoroughly recommend this place if you're a gourmand or appreciate good food. The place is great too, with a historic surrounding and nice ambient. Staff were professional but could be slightly more friendly. Prices were high, but justified.

The Vadstena Klosterhotel Restaurant provided not only great food and wine but also an experience that allowed ourselves to be transported back many years ago when the monastery was operating. The service too was divine and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Chicken Caesar and grilled chicken. Food above average.Nice outdoor seating. English menus. Short wait for food but no one should be in a hurry eating lunch in this location. Service friendly and attentive.$33 for 2 which is very fair. Good choice for a pleasant break from touring. If this review is helpful then please indicate so below.

Sitting outside, watching the world go by with excellent food makes this a great place to visit. The lunch menu is fairly small but with some excellent options of local food. Each dinner is given a kilner jar of salad to start (bit strange but the salad is lovely and fresh) and we had only a short wait for the meals to arrive. We had the veal dish which had a lovely mushroom sauce and was well cooked and flavoured.Inside the restaurant is very large and spotlessly clean. A great lunch stop.

We had dinner twice in this restaurant. The first evening pizza and the second evening salmon. Both dishes were great. We were delighted to get real cooked patatoes with our salmon instead of the boring French Fries. Both times we had dinner outside on the square.

A'la carte restaurang i gammaldags gemytlig miljö. Vi lägger stort fokus på svenska och gärna närproducerade varor. Den eftertraktade Rödingen från Vättern är en vanligt förekommande rätt. Menyn har alltid fisk, kött och vegetariska rätter att välja på. R
This is a nice family run restaurant with a few excellent dishes all based on local raw material and depending on the season. Fish from lake Vettern ! Meat from local farms and also from the wild life. The place is decorated with many flowers and outside there is a garden for kids to play. Easy parking outside, bookings recommended. You will not be disappointed.

From the outside this place looks like a small restaurant but once inside there are quite a few tables and the outside area has seating for around 30 people. The menu is fairly small but changes regularly (it had only changed the day before we went). The starters were beautifully done with some very interesting flavour combinations that worked brilliantly. The mains were well executed but the flavours didn't quite work - there was far too much going on in the dishes which meant they didn't quite come off. The desserts however were another matter - absolutely stunning. Without fail the staff were friendly and helpful - the young chef explained that the rhubarb came from her mother's garden and she picked all the herbs herself for the dishes.Definately worth a visit and I would love to go back again.
