This is a cute little family-run restaurant in the small neighborhood of Miyazakicho Inokura west of Kameoka. The locals come to meet and share a hand-crafted pizza and good conversation. If you order the "set" it comes with an exceptional appetizer suite, which I have to say is one of the finest I've had at any Japanese ryokan. I particularly enjoyed the hand-made pesto chicken. Our group sampled 3 pizzas, the Margherita (basil, tomato, mozzarella) was light, fresh and flavorful, and was my favorite. The locals also like the 'fish" pizza - covered in small hatchlings, not my cup of tea, but that's just my western tastes. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced, and the flour for the pizza dough comes from Italy. This is a nice little place to rest, enjoy a fresh tasty meal and a beer, when traveling on the east-west 372 highway.

This Italian restaurant is located at an entry point to Inagawa Town from Kawanishi City. Since itâs located in a fairly countryside, it has an ample parking space right in front of the restaurant. The owner/chef had been running his Toriton (Triton) Restaurant since 1984 at a different location when he moved to the current building in 2007. He claims his training includes years in the Naples region. The restaurant building needs a through cleaning/dusting operation to freshen it up and I sincerely hope it does it soon. Three of us had a pizza (with locally grown vegetables), and two spaghetti dishes (tomato and seafood). All turned out to be quite good. We wished our server was experienced enough to offer grated Parmesan cheese without us asking for it. The total tab without alcohol was JPY3,942 or about US$35. The same building is shared by a bakery with European and Japanese bread run by a daughter of the owner/chef of the Italian restaurant.
