Things to do in Dundee
When I travel through the Yamhill County area I enjoy stopping for lunch at Chanâs of Dundee. They had great lunch specials, soup included, and you never walked way hungry. Apparently about 6 months ago they sold out and are now called âJinâsâ. Not only was the name changed on the front sign but the âlunch specialâ sign was also removed. My first clue should have been no cars in the lot at lunch time, but hungry for Chinese food, I made the plunge. My first shock was the price increase and they have a lunch menu that starts at $6.50 for two items, they count rice as an item and soup is not included. You need to spend $8.50 at least to get what Chanâs offered for less. Oh if you want hot tea you have to ask for it. I ordered the $6.50 Mar Far chicken and Pork fried rice lunch. The chicken was bland and greasy. As far as the Pork fried rice goes apparently the owners are cost cutting as they were no sign of onions, carrots or peas in the mix, oh they were scattered pieces of pork and eggs. For the positive lots of parking spaces and the server was polite when he was not busy on his ipad in the other room. While I was paying my bill he asked, how was everything? He seemed surprised when I said I would not be back. I do not expect they will be around for long for lack of returning customers.

We expected a let down the second time we went there but were met with another great treat. The service is top notch. Our waitress was one of the hardest working that i have ever experienced. I went outside the box and had the special. Large shrimp with crispy veggies. Wow very fresh and not covered in to much sauce. Even the pork fried rice was not fluffy.

Across Highway 99 from Best Western Newberg, OR
This place was across the street from out hotel, and the way traffic is routed in Newberg , we had to drive more or less over the river and through the woods to get there. In the pouring rain this was a good idea if not an easy task.Food and service here was really good. Our orders came quickly, and were quite tasty. Nothing fancy jus the kind of Americanized Chinese food people have come to expect and love.

Our friends recommended this restaurant. The food is good, service was good without hovering, but the prices of our meals were exceptionally low. I liked the food but my husband would have liked it a bit spicier. The mustard sauce did the trick for him.
