Things to do in Woodburn
This little restaurant in a strip mall has a nice menu with many choices. Chips and 2 salsas come when you sit down. Drinks are served in big frosty mugs. I love the Nachos Vegetarianos.
This is a fairly authentic Mexican restaurant were the local Hispanic population eats. It is off the main street and plenty of parking along the side of the building. It has plain tables and not much in decoration. I ordered a quasadea (sp?) With guacamole and sour cream ,but they brought it plain. They did not speak English so it was hard to order. Our friend who brought us there is wild about this place but I was not crazy about it.
We stopped in for dinner on our way home from PDX. Its a nice little restaurant in Woodburn. English it seemed is the second language, I know a little spanish, but not enough it seems to get our orders right. I got corn tortillas in stead of flour, and my grandson doesnt like onions but they were on his nachos. My daughter said we should have the waitress fix it. But I just picked the onions out and left the tortillas. The rest of the food was good.
For the price we paid...not there! I had the tilapia grilled with salsa on top. Served with beans and rice. I got nothing on top. Fish was ok, no spices, boneless. A couple of bites were really "fishy". Beans too cool. Rice looked like instant with a cube of carrot or pea here and there out of a frozen bag. Husband got Carne Asada. It was tough and dry. Homemade tortillas were too thick. Really really thick. Was told this was the BEST place to go. Nope Nope Nope Serve staff was attentive, and friendly. Place looked clean. But won't go back...much better stuff out there.

We went here with some family and had a good dinner. We went on the Friday after thanksgiving at about 7 pm. I had the Burrito Tiajuana, my wife had a the taco salad and my mom had the chicken enchilada plate. The Service was good, but the business was a little slow. The price was about right for the meal and the place was clean. We did not use the restrooms, so cannot say anything about those facilities. Looks like the facility was upgraded with new lights since we were there last. Easy access off of Highway 99 in Woodburn.Would go there again and order the same Burrito.

We live here in Woodburn and have access to many different Mexican restaurants. Trapala rates high with us. This is where we take out of town guests. They have a variety of choices, fresh ingredients, good flavor, friendly atmosphere. Not cheap eats. The owners have had culinary training.

I have eaten at this local restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. The fajitas are my favorite, but the burritos are a close second, and the margaritas...there are no words. If you haven't tried Trapala yet, what are you waiting for. Go, go now!

Luis's Taqueria has been serving Michoacan style mexican food since May 28, 1993. Our family oriented establishment is well known for it's delicious hand made corn tortillas and famous dishes. Like the "Chavindeca" originally from Chavinda Michoacan. Here
Luis's is renowned locally as the best Mexican in the Portland-Salem corridor. It's good but I don't know if it's the best. My son, one of his buddies and I hit it early for lunch. I had a Torta that was definitely good, the boys had shrimp/fish taco's and the other had an Enchilada plate w/Tamales. Both were pretty happy. Worth a stop if you're in the Woodburn area.
