After a short stay down the road in Tillamook, we stopped by the Lakeside Hideaway on our way back north, and are we ever glad we did! I've eaten clam chowder all over the country, and have said for the past thirty years that the best I've ever had was from a little place down the coast in Yachats, OR. I am pleased to say that the cook at the Lakeside has mastered the art of clam chowder, resulting in a wonderful bowl of thick, creamy goodness. The ingredients are all cut / chopped to the proper size so as to make it a true chowder (rather than a cream potato soup with clams, as so many others turn out to be). A bowl of this would make a meal in itself for most normal folks, but I encourage you to pair a cup of the chowder with their wonderful French dip sandwich, which is made from beef that has been marinated for 24 hours prior to roasting, then is sliced almost, but not quite, paper-thin, topped with Provolone and mounted on a wonderfully soft bun. We wish we lived closer, or visited more frequently, but rest assured we will return to the Lakeside Hideaway on any future visit to the area so we can investigate other offerings on the menu (hint--we were told that they frequently have a special of Chicken Cordon Bleu that the owner himself prepares from scratch).

The chicken tamales were very good! The salsa verde was served under the tamales as opposed to being spooned on top. That's slightly different from other Mexican restaurants. The rice was okay, not great. The black beans were good. The atmosphere is light (white and green instead of darker tones). The staff and owner are very friendly!

This charming coastal pub was really fun. It didnât have a great selection of liquor, nor did it have a spectacular menu but it did have karaoke and I was highly entertained by the surprisingly excellent singers who performed. We ordered bar food a quesadilla, jalapeño poppers, and a salad. All were fine, served quickly even though it was busy. I recommend this fun pub if you at the beach. Youâre gonna have a good time!

Stayed at the Sheltered Nook and recommended by the staff of the same as their favorite place to eat and enjoy after work wind down. With that recommendation, good enough for me and not disappointed. If you're looking for a dress code and reservations required, go someplace else. This is a local eatery that serves quality food at good prices, has ZERO atmosphere but the food is good, the staff friendly and attentive. In summary, EAT HERE!

Welcome to Sand Dollar Restaurant & Lounge! We offer a wide variety of traditional American fare with a fine European twist. Prepared with fresh, local ingredients, our food will please even the most sophisticated pallets. We create everything in our kitc
Stopped here for an early dinner. Weather was nice so we sat outside. I had the cuban sandwich which was pretty good. Nice view from the outside deck. Service was inconsistent ... greeted quickly but went downhill from there. Inside appeared pretty dark without much if any atmosphere. We get to Rockaway quite often; not sure we'd return. They do have Happy Hour ... but only available in the lounge -- couldn't even see the menu to see if we were interested in it.

Trollers has a wonderful view of the Boats, and the sunset is amazing. Friendly staff who makes you feel very welcome. You will feel right at home.
We stopped here on New Years Day while traveling the coast. That it was open for breakfast was its first victory. The good was good. Nothing fancy, just good. I had the razor clams and eggs. Yum.One thing we really enjoyed was the authenticity. It's not touristy or fancy. It's a bar and family restaurant on the docks that looks like it's been doing what it does for a few decades. I like that.
Kelley's Place is tucked away, inside the Old Mill Marina. They serve one of the best prime rib sandwiches that I have ever had. The Chef Salad is also delicious. Nice view of the bay when the tide is in. Local's favorite.

We are a sports bar and grill that serves not only your traditional pub quality food choices, but also an array of local caught seafood for those gourmet dishes that support the sustainable fishermen community. Also enjoy the favorites like our broasted c
We didn't eat here as we just came from dinner; but the food coming out of the kitchen looked great! The bar was comfortably full but we found seating easily. Apparently all "locals" and we had a great time listening to all the stories! Drinks were good and fairly priced, and right next to our hotel! HOW CONVENIENT! Very clean and the employees are super friendly!

I got in around 8 and Hotel recommended this place, wish I read reviews first. For a fishing town, only 3 fish items on menu. Disappointment. Staff was nice, but at one point, they were all outside smoking. Prices are reasonable. I ended up with fish sandwich, fried frozen cod.
