We were happy to find this newly opened restaurant during a very quiet time in Joseph. Many other restaurants were closed. Good hand tossed pizza - not real big for $18 but tasty. Ours couldâve benefitted from a little more seasoning but was fresh and hot. Give it a try!

The food is really good here. The staff was friendly and most of the servers were good. We tried a variety of dishes...my husband liked his steak and I enjoyed the Large German pancake at breakfast. When it was warm enough, we enjoyed dining on the deck. The cobbler with ice cream which we shared was really good.

Great place for a meal, cozy fire when it's chilly outside, friendly staff and visit with the locals. The place has a outdoor seating during the summer and there's a little grocery store off the side if you decide to you need something at the cabin or trailer.

You can't go wrong at this or Embers or Old Town cafe. All have really fresh salads, good burgers, fries, etc.I had a terrific salad and homemade soup. A perfect meal to enjoy on the large outdoor seating area. Inside is lots of space too. All the main street restaurants with outdoor seating make for fun people watching.

We had just arrived in Joseph around dinner time and were looking for a restaurant within walking distance of the Bronze Antler B&B. The 4 out of 5 star review for the Stubborn Mule looked ok and the photos of the prime rib looked good. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt, and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, the quality of the meal was average at best. Later that evening, other guests of the Bronze Antler raved about their meal at the Dog Spot across the street. We should have gone there instead.

This is our go to place to eat in Joseph. Service is always quick, friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic and a real treat from the typical hamburgers, fried food and pre-prepared food found around town. The chef will cater to your food likes and dislikes which I really like. I love the food themes and have tried food from around the world without having to leave our beautiful little town. Give The Dog Spot a try, you will not be sorry!

I had breakfast there. The bacon was meaty. The eggs and pancakes were average. The server was very nice, friendly, and professional.I felt uncomfortable because of a sign over the counter that said: "Just say no to drugs and Hillary." Political messages are inappropriate in any public service establishment, and in the case of a tourist town, not a good business decision. It implies to me: "Locals with our politics only; tourists go somewhere else."

Lovely place to sit outside on sunny fall day or in evening warmed by fire pits, creating pleasant ambiance. I had a small Carnivore pizza, loaded with a variety of meat. Delicious, crust cooked to perfection like an artisan crust from Italy. Hard to find a perfect pizza, they've mastered it!!It is popular and not large seating area, so plan ahead if you plan to arrive at peak times.

This place is awesome. I especially liked the honesty re: managing expectations since it was crowded and the creative and healthy menu. The cappuccino was very good, benefitting from the beans roasted on-site. We each thoroughly enjoyed our choices: Breakfast Bowl, Back to Basics Bowl and the Fergi Fest and left wishing we lived nearby to try more. Seating can be inside or out of this colorful and artsy house-like cafe alongside a creek. We also tried the mixed berry scone and cinnamon bun topped generously with icing -- both excellent. It is conveniently located on the main street of Joseph. Prices are a good value.

We have eaten here in 2008 and again recently. It is so good that we want to give it a positive review for travelers to this part of Oregon.
This quaint, welcoming, homey restaurant also has friendly, attentive service but delicious food. The coffee (and this from a coffee snob) was really good. We had a veggie scramble with biscuits which we both enjoyed immensely.
