Henny Bogan Does The Brogue InnIt certainly wasn’t our intent to get caught up in the first day of French’s Get Sauced to Win campaign, but it worked out remarkably well for our band of epicurists. If you order one entrée from their card, you have a chance to win a trip to an NFL Opening Day City. So we chose the taco fries, which were delicious. Oh, 300 restaurants across Canada have opted in to the promo and The Brogue Inn was one. But more about Port Credit’s The Brogue, an Irish pub restaurant with a few cozy booths by the window. The bar is reminiscent of the real McCoy in Ireland and practically dares you to down a Guinness, and one of my spies tells me that their dinner specials are extra-special. And the food is both yummy and creative, starting with the delightful crab cakes appetizer. The beef pot pie was loaded with delicious chunks of beef and the chicken clubhouse was delectable. The hearty veggie burger was laced with mushrooms and onion rings and the minestrone soup was tasty and filling. Server Tori showed expertise in explaining The Sauce promo and performed her duties efficiently and caringly.

Usually friendly and family like service, I had the Ceviche, that personally I prefer only seafood rather than too many veggies and the special Lamb shank , that was flying off the bone just looking at it. A great portion of softness achieved by many many hours of cooking. Pricey but worth every penny We appreciate this review and hope to welcome you back soon!

We visited many years ago and just forgot about this resto. The food is very good, portions were on the larger side which was fine - we like to have leftovers for lunch. Staff was pleasant and our table was ready immediately.

Always a trifactor win. Great people, service and food. Friendly staff from greeters and servers. Had the seafood pasta in cream sauce. Enough to share. Tiger shrimps and scallops cooked to perfection. Clean busy dinning area. Noisy but was packed. Fish tacos were a big hit with ladies. Chocolate lava cake bitter due to high caco content. Yummy. Atmosphere by the lake was lovely. Great for walks.

Let me start with what disturbed me from the beginning before even eating their food. Their washroom had only cold water. I realize there are those that do not care about that, as some people do not wash their hands after going to the washroom, but I do care about that. Now on to the food. We went there to celebrate someone's birthday and travelled quite a distance to go there. What a mistake. I normally love garlic bread but theirs was just alright. The onion soup was one of the worst a few of us said they had ever eaten. The salad was drenched in the blue cheese dressing I had. 2 of us ordered the bigger size prime rib to have dinner for a second night.  Each was a huge piece of meat that unfortunately lacked the juiciness and great taste we experienced elsewhere. Then the part that really angered me. I left over the asparagus and red pepper to have the next day with my leftover prime rib and fries. The waiter took our plates and when I opened the container the next day, the asparagus and red pepper I saved were NOT there. How can someone mess up transferring food from a plate to a container to take home? One person had the dover sole. She was asked if she wanted the bones removed. They took the large piece of fish and came back with practically nothing. Our guess is that instead of going through the work of removing the bones, they instead went the lazy route and chopped off any part that could have bone. It was $52 for a dismal small piece of fish.  The virgin strawberry daiquiri tasted like strawberry juice not real strawberries mixed in a blender. Also worst we ever had. We did NOT risk having a dessert. All 4 in my party felt the food was inferior to other restaurants and obviously we will not be going back there again.UPDATE: I contacted them about throwing out the asparagus and red pepper and they said they would reimburse me.  Faye, someone I was led to believe was a manager,  said about refunding me the price of those items.  I felt that as I had only a few fries left to eat with my 2nd dinner even though I had purposely saved my asparagus and red pepper, they were being cheap and unfair.  They said they would decide what to give me and get back to me the next day.  They did NOT contact me back the next day.  Today, on a $350 bill paid, they reimbursed $5. That is not a typo.  I couldn't believe how disgusting they are.  They gave back LESS than the cost of asparagus and red pepper and nothing for ruining my 2nd dinner.  It is not their fault I wanted it for 2 meals.  That is why I ate NO asparagus or red pepper night 1 so I could have them with the 2nd meal, since the first night I had the soup and salad. It IS their fault they threw out what they did and reimbursing me $5 is truly unbelievable.  In summary, the food is barely ok and definitely worse than other places at their price point.  Their customer service is below par, lying about even reimbursing the cost of what they threw out. They can't be trusted to put your leftovers in a container, which is amazing to me.  Stay away from this lousy establishment.  We wish we had.

Had a lovely dinner with my Mom last evening. There was a mushroom and stout soup that was wonderful (not too salty, which I often find is the case with their soups). We both had the grilled octopus salad - the octopus was cooked to perfection!!
