An upscale neighbourhood pub and restaurant on Church St, across from the old Maple Leaf Gardens, Hair of the Dog was recently voted one of the best patios in the city and best pub downtown by Torontoâs Now Magazine. Itâs a downtown hot spot and a great p
We followed an old guide book recommendation to this place and although it was a different name, the patio looked nice and we decided to go in. The food was very average and kind of old fashioned in a city like Toronto with lots of more modern options. This was a disappointment as we had chosen this place for our last night in Canada.

A great spot for a relaxing evening. It has a wonderful, gay-friendly vibe. Seating inside and out. There is a good selection of beers on tap, including a particularly lovely citrus IPA. There is an extensive and varied menu - the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are welcoming, friendly and knowledgable.Highly recommended for a relaxed night out in Downtown.

We stayed several nights in Toronto for a birthday trip for my husband. Though we spent most of our time in the downtown area, our Airbnb was located several miles outside of downtown and they had a list of some local recommendations and we decided to give this place a try. We were not disappointed. We both had beer flights so we could sample several beers, and all were delicious. For diner we split a bison&pork belly burger and a BBQ duck pizza. Easily one of the best meals weâve ever had. The service was phenomenal as well. If we ever make it back to Toronto, weâll definitely be going back!

Nice place, lots of atmosphere, good service and excellent food. I had the falafel on naan and this was very flavorful. Fish and chips looked really good too and I have high expectations for F&C as lived in England 3years

In the heart of Cabbagetown, this local favorite offers the choice of an array of classic dishes for lunch and dinner - burger, po' boy, steak frites, fajitas and Burritos, pastas and popular pub grub, and of course an amazing Craft Beer Selection!. And w
I like choosing restaurants based on location (close to hotel) and Tripadvisor reviews. Because of Labour Day weekend, a lot of restaurants in Toronto were closed, which forced me to look at a larger area around our hotel. This one got decent reviews, but did mean we had to take a taxi. Some Canadian friends decided to join us, and contacted the place to change the booking. They did not need to have bothered, as it was almost empty. It does not look great - it's a dingy pub without much atmosphere. It will probably look and feel better if it is full of people. The service was fine. The food wasn't. At least it was cheap. And there was nothing wrong with the beers. Altogether, this might be a good place for some drinks, if it a bit busier. But I would give the food a miss. I have no idea why so many of the reviews are so positive about the food, because this was not our experience.
